| Mono Nordic unicycle race |

This year Mono Nordic ski club is going to have 5km mountian unicycle race category as part of their anual trail run on Sunday September 26th at Monora Park. All trails use Mono Nordic ski trails which have Some steep hills All races begin at Monora Park Pavillion - off Hwy 10 near Orangeville ON Canada

here is an Information about the:
9 th International Unicycle Marathon Competition
at the 8 th of May 2011 in
Duesseldorf/Germany
Within the city Marathon event „METRO Group Marathon Duesseldorf“ our local Unicycle Club „RMSV Frisch auf Duesseldorf e. V.“ is already for the seventh time the organizer of the official separate unicycle competition which is the only event of this kind all over the world. More than 70 unicyclists from Germany and abroad had registered in 2010. Here you have the unique opportunity to ride in front of more than 400,000 excited spectators without caring about traffic lights and rules right across the city center and some suburbs of Duesseldorf. For the unicyclists with german passports this competition is the seventh official national marathon championship. Unicyclists from outside Germany are very welcome.
All information of “METRO Group Marathon Duesseldorf” are valid also for unicyclists unless you will find different information here.
Unicyclists of minimum 16 years (relevant = year of birth = 1995) which are able to ride the 42.195 km Marathon distance on a unicycle within maximum 4.30 hours have to register twice, i. e. first under
www.metrogroup-marathon.de
and afterwards under
www.rmsv-duesseldorf.de!
All changes of your registration have to be reported to both organizing parties too! All members below 18 years confirm by their registration at the same time that their parents are in agreement with their participation.
You can participate in one of the two different disciplines:
“Standard Competition” with technical limitations as max. 28”x 1,75” tyre (diameter of max. 72.5 cm) crank arms of min. 114 mm and 1:1 fixed gear.
“Unlimited Competition” without any major technical limitations. Just for statistical reasons we will monitor the wheel diameter, length of crank arms and the use of a gear box (“Schlumpf”).
Pedals made of metal and any devices to fix the feet on the pedals are not allowed for any unicycle. All unicycles have to be equipped to avoid any risk for other participants. All unicycles are controlled accordingly before the start by the organizer.
Within the “Standard” there will be three different age groups for men (< 40 years, > 40 years, > 50 years) and only one for women. There is one “Unlimited” competition for woman and first time two age groups (< 40 years, > 40 years) for men.
The three fist participant of each of the seven different competition groups will be honoured and will receive a prize. Moreover you will receive a special prize if undercutting one of the track records. The best participants with a german passport will receive a national jersey and will get the title of a german unicycling champion.
The times are measured with the Chronotrack system by using one-time transponders. The individual net times (from crossing the starting line up to crossing the finish line) are the base for all rankings except the track records. For all track records the gross time (from starting signal to crossing the finish line) are valid. Therefore all candidates for undercutting one of the track records should start from the front line. The track records are: woman Standard: 2:06:52 by Linda Kirner in 2009, woman Unlimited: 1:52:42 by Linda Theiß in 2008, men Standard: 1:43:16 by Christoph Hartmann in 2009, men Unlimited: 1:25:15 by Jan Logemann in 2010 (= world record).
It is mandatory to wear a helmet and gloves, recommended are protectors for knees and elbows too. Each unicyclist participates at his own risk. The organizer will nevertheless negotiate an insurance contract covering all unicyclists. If you have left your unicycle you have to climb on again within 25 meters.
Registration fee varies between 45 and 70 EUR depending on the time of registration.
Registration has to be made before the 24 th of April 2011.
You have to pick up your starting number the day before, just in exceptional cases in the early morning before starting.
As this event is primarily an event for runners and we are on the same track with them the unicyclist who need more than 2:20 hours will have to give priority to the top runners, i. e. leave the ideal “blue line” on the street for the runners if required. No one of the top runners should have any disadvantage due to the participation of the unicyclists. It may even happen that unicyclists 500 m before the finish line are stopped by an official for about one minute to avoid that a unicyclist will cross the finish line at the same time as one of the top runners. The waiting time (+ 5 seconds for stopping and restarting) is deducted from the individual measured time. In 2010 however only four participants had to be stopped. All unicyclists have to follow the directions of any of the officials.
The track is the same for runners and unicyclist with one exception: After about 3 km all handbikers and unicyclists will continue to go straight ahead, make an U-turn and will ride back the same road to join the runner`s track again after about 5 km.
All participants agree that their personal data and results are transferred to METRO Group Marathon and the local press.
Start will be at 9:15 a. m. from “Rheinterrasse” (just after the handbikers),
the award ceremony will be held at 12:45 a. m. at “Burgplatz”.
Probably we will offer accomodation in our gym at a price of 10 EUR/person w/o breakfast. Moreover it is intended to organize a common dinner for all unicyclists the night before.

Trials and Muni weekfor beginners and advanced!
Great opportunities to build the coolest track that can even be permanent. Come to Salling, north of Skive and join in on the first unicycle camp.
Teachers are some of Denmark's best for trials and muni.
Event will be at the Circus Factory
The unicycles have all ways been part of the circus camp. Now we have been able to build an outdoor arena with lots of trials opportunities and obstacles.
Week 31 will be focusing on unicycling. To participate in this event you should beable to ride on unicycle and hop a little. Are you a beginner and have to start from scratch and want to learn to ride trials, this is the place to be.
Extreme sports on Unicycle
Beginner trials: On this team, anyone who can ride and jump, get involved. On this team we work towards a show in the circus tent on the last day. If you work in a children's circus, it would be cool to have trials act in your performances.
Intermediate Trials: For those riders who already ride trials. For you it will be a week with lots of fun and challenges. You will help build your own obstacles. There will be presentations of how you can build a path and there will be ample opportunity to challenge each other. During the week we build our own indoor track and a permanent track outside.
Muni / Trials: Have you heard of DOTFMW? Andy Cotter has a muni/trials course in his backyard. We will try to copy some of this in the area around the Circus Factory. There is pleanty of posibilitys. When riding the track you decide your route, depending on how good you are on your unicycle.
There are plenty of challenges during the week. We end the week with races on the crosscountry crack, show at our indoor trial court, and show in the circus tent.
From Sunday the 1st August there is accommodation from 13:00. There will be briefing at 16.00 with some demonstrations by teachers. After that we start. The whole week working in various groups and we are working toward display and run on Friday, where we invite the audience outside.
There will be food served three times a day and while the afternoon there will be fruit. The price is DKK 1400, - for the whole week, all incl.
Accommodation takes place in packed tents or caravans.

Lars Lottrup - has won unicycle Danish Nationals more than 20 times.
Jesper Møller Andersen - Denmark's probably best municyklist. He travels around Europe sparsely to participate in the muni ran all sorts of places.
Nikolaj Moestrup - One of Denmark's top cyclists within trials. Many people know Nikolaj from "Denmark got Talent 2009".
We hope to see some international riders.

Hi unicyclists,
The organisers of a festival in Maryborough have just sent me the following email. I am passing it on as requested.
Apparently the prize pool is valued at about $1000.
I hope to see lots of other unicyclists there.

Calling all unicyclists to take part in
THE GREAT UNICYLE CHALLENGE
Come along and participate in a magical fun day as Maryborough celebrates it unique connection to Mary Poppins
Maryborough is located 250km north of Brisbane and is the gateway to the Fraser Coast.
There will be two heats during the day at 11am and 2pm where unicyclist will compete in races including:
50m Sprint
50 Backwards race
50m ride and juggle
10m Slow race
30 Sky race (competitors must freemount a giraffe unicycle (5minimum), race to the end and then dismount gracefully).
Great Prize to be won and all participants will receive meal vouchers and cold drinking water on the day.
