yes you're right, for cross country, he uses Romain's 26 with disc and not rim brake

Cool idea for a thread. I just got back to Oz from Europe so I can add to the list a little bit. I know Seisuke Kobayashi was riding a custom 26" disc brake muni with 150s, and what looked like a UST (tubeless) compatible rim/ tyre. Ken Looi's geared muni had 150mm cranks and a lightweight 2.2" tyre. I was one of the only riders in the top handful of people who competed with the exact same setup for all the muni events- and to be honest, i think apart from the muni obstacles comp (which lots of people treated like another trials comp and rode smaller wheels for it which was kinda cheating) i don't think my results suffered from it. It is nice to only have to take one uni and be able to compete at a high level in all the Muni events.

And one of the worst 2.3" tyres I've ever ridden. But it was light.

I made the greatest expert downhill time:
2 hours and a half.
KH 24 (2004 edition) brakeless.
Needless to say I "walked" (or crawled) through 80% of the race

OMG! I didn't even know I was fifth place in XC! That's... CRAZY!

As Hugo said, I was riding a Geared 24"x3" for the XC race with a rim brake. My brake kept breaking during my trip, I repaired it with ShoeGoo for the XC race. It worked, but I was scared to use it too hard so I waited for the second lap to use it properly.

I take it 30+ doesn't count then. Or female. Or under 19.

Whatever...

To me I was among the top riders anyways.
