How Tall Are You?

Basically, just post your height/weight and preferred disciplines.

I could see how being shorter, and thus having a lower center of gravity, could help with street/flat but, I also see how being taller could help you with trials(longer legs, more leverage). Obviously, lower weight would help you hop higher but, being too light could effect your stability. Just curious if anyone else had thought of this. I did a search and couldn't find anything specifically talking about it.

Just to get it out of the way;

6 feet 5 inches tall, 240lbs(trying to lose some )
I mainly ride street/trials. Before I sold them off, I rode a lot of freestyle/muni.

I am 6' and weigh 65kgs and do mountain unicycling. Being tall can be anoying where there is a lot of overhanging branches.

I have the same issue when I'm mountainb***ing.

My main issue with being really tall is seat height. On regular frame 20" unicycles, a 400mm seatpost is pretty much standard. Even for trials, I ride with it higher than most people ride for street/flat.

5' 6" 140 lbs

i understand the whole debate for height and centre of gravity but i feel like it is nonsense... I i sat at you hight then yes i would feel off balance and if we removed your spine and you sat at mine then yes. But you grow up at your hight so its your hight, its all you know.

I enjoy not being able to reach the top shelf.... it gives me something to talk about...

Wow, I did a search and didn't even find that thread. I guess this is pretty pointless now.

Somehow, I can't seem to figure out how my height has anything to do with which unicycling disciplines I like. If it were an Olympic sport, body type might be a factor in who reaches the top levels, but we're not exactly there yet.

6'-0" and I mostly ride MUni and Road (these days)

You could be 5'3" or 6'3" and I don't think that it would really put a damper on you doing any unicycle discipline.

One height/weight related thing that might be interesting is if you pooled muni riders to see if there is a relationship between height/weight and wheel/tire size. I know that terrain has more to do with tire choice than body type but it could be interesting.

Muni riders - height/weight -vs- wheel size
