crap, sorry for the triple post, but I can't edit either of my last two.
If Google's going to make a doodle of this, we're all going to have to email them so they'll know it's not just one crazy guy who wants Google to do a doodle for unicycles. Email them at: proposals@google.com Spread the word!

Awww!
Hmmmm... I wonder if there's any unicyclist higher-ups in Hallmark? Just kidding... kinda.

How about something like the first Saturday after July 20th? Or third Saturday of July? If it falls on a Saturday there would be more opportunity for larger groups to get together. That way it should be more successful.

That's actually a really good idea. Thanks for your contribution, Doug!
![]() Google has yet to E-Mail me back. If it doesn't happen within a week or so I'll assume we were denied. If I get ANY notification whatsoever though, I'll post here.

Pick a date and stick with it.
Individual groups can decide to have commemorative rides on the closest Saturday, but stick to one date. It focusses the energy and makes it more likely to catch on. |

Yeah, and a lot of us already E-Mailed things like Google with the specifics in the hope that they'll do a Doodle for us. (No really big things in history on the 20th, so that's a plus!)While it was a good idea Doug, and I still believe that, it just came a bit too late. When you label days with a number as well, it's also more likely to stick in people's minds. Sorry

I heard doodles cost Google several million dollars in productivity (I can't remember if that's per doodle, or each year). So maybe it would help if one of our more artistic members submitted an actual doodle? I can try, but if anyone can really draw, you should show Google.

I also emailed the IUF. If they accept this, Google will be a lot more likely to do a doodle. Actually, anyone who hears about it will take it seriously if the IUF does. Most likely, Google will contact the IUF. If they have accepted it, Google will probably go ahead and do a doodle. This kind of stuff is great publicity for Google (not that they need any more, but still).
It all goes to the person who reads our proposals. All we need is for Google to do one doodle. I was thinking two unis for the o's, and a giraffe for the l. Any other ideas?

I'm thinking drop the one "o" and turn the other one into a uni for the day.

You could probably make the form of a guy riding into a G, it doesn't need to be perfect, google does it all the time.

Still no reply from Google.
![]() Hopefully they're seriously considering this. I at least expect a reply.

If you've looked at their site, it says that they might not even reply if you're denied. I haven't received a reply yet either. Let's be honest, it was unlikely that Google would host a doodle for us if the "holiday" isn't even official with the IUF yet.
