There are so many different brands and styles out there, so it's really personal preference. I happen to like Vans. I have the SK8 fleece mids, and also a brand new model, the Bash Vuc mid. Both seen on page 8 of this thread.

I cant imagine riding in anything other than chucks (converse all-stars). For me they are the best shoe because they are light, comfortable, flexible and have fairly flat tread so you can really feel the pedal and dont lose any of the... How to describe it? The sensation of the ground through the uni that just isnt there with thick and stiff soles. The cons are that they dont provide any ankle protection, are not water resistant (unless you buy the leather ones), they deteriorate very quickly and are horribly unethical being made in sweatshops by, but then again most other shoes are as well. On the upside you CAN buy non sweatshop versions made from hemp and recycled rubber. Keep an eye out for them.

They all suck as far as I can tell.
Osiris NYC 83: Chunks falling out after a month or two. Looked pretty sick for a while though in my opinion. Vans Half Cabs: Wore the fastest of any shoes ever and they were super thin so I always bruised my feet. And when they started wearing down (a week after I got them) they lost all their grip immediately. Nike Mogan: Worn through the entire sole in 3ish months, these have sucked the least out of my shoes so far, and they're what I buy now. Even though there are holes in the bottoms they are still functional. Also, I've been riding these about 5x harder than the others I've had, toooons of rolls. When I had a pair before I started rolls they lasted nearly a whole year. If you really want pictures I'll take some tomorrow, let me know.

I use Vans. I have them for 2 years now and use them for trials. There are a few small holes in it and 1 really big haha
. But it's still ok for riding :P.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity for some enterprising individual in the FL community to come up with an idea/design for a shoe, specifically made for FL. Necessity is the mother of invention, as they say. FL unicycling is such a tiny market now, so you would need to expand the scope of buyer interest by making the shoe appeal to a wider market and demographic. FL for bikes as well. Determine the areas of the shoe that are the most prone to premature wear, and reinforce those areas.

you could easily make a FL shoe that would be great for BMX and skateboarding too. Without any extra costs..
