From the forum titles listed under "General Discussion", the "Unicycle Product Reviews" forum is described as such:

Quote:
Post your product reviews here!
"need help upgrading looking for reviews" doesn't read like a product review. This is not the proper forum for asking questions.

If you have questions, first search the Unicyclist.com forums (especially the forum you're already in!) to find your answer. It is more than likely your answers are already here; in this case there is no reason to start a new thread.

If you can't find your answer (please try at least once for your own benefit), only then should you post your question in Rec.Sport.Unicycling. Not only does it help keep the forums organized, posting in RSU exposes your question to a much wider audience, giving you a chance at a better, more accurate answer.

Thanks!

Maestro, stop trolling. Not everyone knows how to work the forum as good as you.

There's a huge difference between trolling and moderation.

It's not an issue of "working the forum"... it's simple English comprehension.

People just aren't reading forum descriptions. The end result is forum pollution.

Take a look at Just Conversation. Half the threads on page 1 belong in RSU.

Either you're part of the problem or part of the solution. Your choice.

I would choose to be a part of the solution.

Without our pointy haired ball of wax this place would fall apart. We need people like maestro for when the "self moderation" is lacking.

I really think that threads should have to be "accepted" to end up in the product reviews section as well as the articles and tutorials section. I mean that is why we have the new article/tutorial request section (which nobody ever uses).

This place is hard enough to search without the pollution. It is not just a social networking site.

I agree we need self-moderation. There is a point when, this self-moderation becomes unhelpful, we do not want to scare off new members to the forums do we? You could've easily gave your opinion on forum mis-use but also answered the question.
