Do You Unicycle with other annoying Unicyclists?

This is your chance to get things off your chest.Do you have a unicycle buddy who just when you get the nerve to try that new trick gets in your way? Your about to ride down those stairs and your buddy rides across and still stances in your path? Your trying to jump mount and he jumps right next to you.Your about to try the trick and he calls out and makes you laugh (and then fall) Do you have one of those annoying Unicycle buddies?

Or perhaps you buddy borrows your uni and doesnt give it back for a year, or always uses your gear cos they always forget theirs or maybe they always get the best uni buy before you.Maybe they borrow your guards and return them with white fluff stuck to the velcro.Or maybe they always reckon they landed the trick (even when they didnt)

Maybe theyre just plain better than you,,,,ALL THE TIME!!!!!!

Maybe they create annoying threads in the forums.Maybe Theres a little of the Annoying Unicyclist in ALL OF US!!!!

Situations and events described in this thread are fictional only and do not refer to real life persons or events or people nicknamed chunky or out-there

I hate it when you do something awesome, and your "annoying" uni buddy says "Oh but you hopped" its only 9/10 not 10/10".

I wish my friends would taunt me on the trail.

I only have a couple of uni buddies, but they hardly ride. They always say stuff like. ''I have to work'' or ''I have to take care of my kids'' or ''I'm out of shape'' or ''my wife won't let me'' or ''I rather ride my motorcycle'' or ''I rather go kite-surfing''.
Damm, Get a life..... one that involves more unicycles.

The thread title is a loaded question. By posting here we are all admitting to being annoying unicyclists! So be it. The first post reminded me of my early unicycling days, back in the Redford Township Unicycle Club (Michigan). We had several pieces of "equipment" that we rode on in shows, like a balance beam, jump ramp, etc. One was a 4-way ramp, basically shaped like a plus-sign with a little platform in the middle to hold the ramps up. We would do figure-8s and other patterns around this ramp but Mark Shaefer, one of the fastest unicyclists of the early 80s, would always pause at the top to screw up whoever was coming.

I think once or twice he did the same thing on our see-saw. I believe this was a 10' long board over a base made of pipe; a simple construction to provide the see-saw action with minimal parts. You could ride two over it at a time, with good teamwork. We tried many times to cram three of our 24" wheels on there, but I don't know if we ever got it. But doing it in tandem, you still had to keep your spacing tight, and have a lot of trust in the other rider. As the front rider, you ended up riding almost to the top of the board before it would start to come down. But Mark would ride onto the back end and stop, leaving me hanging up there!

I'll try to bring a unicycle on any future visits to Hawaii! Even if it's to the wrong island. Everyone else, think of critter on future visits to Oahu!

HAhahaha! Whenever Matt and I ride, I get tired first, and I always need somekind of tools to fix some stupid little problem. He probably think's I'm the most annoying Uni buddy ever. But saying as we've been best friends for years, I don't think he's actually pissed with me... At least I hope he isn't

Do You Unicycle with other annoying Unicyclists?

I usually don't ride with other unicyclists, period. I much prefer going solo so I can go at my own pace, maybe do various lines over and over at my leisure, and get into a total zone! And because I stop often to set up and film, etc., I would feel rather guilty that I'd be holding up other riders. Most of the people I've ridden with really don't like to be on either end of a camcorder, and, if anything, they typically only take stills.

I have ridden with very many people before, and I must say I have found a lot of them annoying.

But a lot of them were really awesome too

oh thats so .......sad.....

I knew a guy once who didnt have any unicycle buddies, so one day he showed his friends his shiny gleaming wheel and it beckoned to them and taunted to them "you can't ride me" ....... and now he has lots of uni buddies!

If you dont have any uni buddies try doing what my friend did and create your own.........has the advantage that you'l probably be better than them seeing as you started first, they will probably forever idolise you as their initial inspiration and you'l be helping to grow the sport of unicycling.

But if all thats too hard you could always have an imaginery uni buddy; one thats not too annoying!!!!! LOL.
