BMW 09 - The British MUni Weekend

I am delighted to announce

BMW 09

Hosted by JUST

The first of this years British Muni Weekends will be held on

Friday 27th February to Sunday 1st March

Hamsterley Forest, County Durham.

Location:
Hamsterley Forest is a Forestry Commission Forest with 2000 hectares of mixed woodland lying between the Wear and Tees valleys on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Riding:
The forest boast some of the best riding in the region with a mixture of gentle trails and exciting single track which will stretch the best of Muni riders. There is also a MTB training loop which is VERY entertaining.

How to get there:
Hamsterley is easily accessible by car and is sign posted from the A68.
If you’re travelling by train, the closest station is Darlington.
For those flying in, either Newcastle or Durham Tees airport would be the best option.
There is also a ferry route which runs from Amsterdam to Newcastle. The port is 44 miles from Hamsterley forest.
Please contact me if you require picking up from train stations or airports.
Car Directions
The post code for use with SatNav: DL13 3NL
Please note that you will be charged £3 per day to use the car park.

Accommodation:
We have Hamsterley Forest Outdoor Centre, which has five dormitories, together providing thirty beds. There are male and female toilets/washrooms, and the centre (which is single storey). There is full gas central heating making the centre warm and comfortable all the year round. The large kitchen is fully equipped, and there is also a washing machine and tumble drier. You will need to bring your own bedding or sleeping bags.

Events:
Multiple Muni rides for all abilities (short double or single tracks... of varying roughness), Night rides, Muni games and competitions.

Times:
The centre opens at 3:00pm on Friday and has to be cleared by Sunday at 4:00pm.

T-Shirts:
T-Shirts will be available at BMW, and will be £10 each. Please specify on booking form how many you require of each size. They will be standard men’s size.
Design to follow...

Cost:
This will be £25 per person, for 2 nights stay. We will provide dinner on Friday and Saturday, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and food to make yourself a packed lunch for Saturday and Sunday.
There is no charge for those who wish to come just for the day, although a £5 donation would be much appreciated.

How to register:
As there are so few beds available it will be dealt with on a first come first served basis. Camping will also be available, please specify if you wish to camp when booking.
A £10 deposit is required to secure your place. Cheques to be made payable to Stockton Unicycle and Juggling Club.

Cool. I haven't made it to any of the north-east meetings yet - have to make an effort to get to this one. Hamsterley sounds like a good place, although a bit rodentish. We'll have to organise some south-west meets in Rattery, Mousehole or Ottery to balance things out

With a BMW in the North, followed by a BUC in the South, I'm sure the distances will even out no matter where you live

I'm pleased so many people have already announced their attendance. I'm sure it will be a great weekend.

Oh, so we're only allowed to use real words on the forum now?
Surely you've heard of rodents in your part of the world?
