Help with Joomla website design!

Hi!

I'm developing a Brazilian Unicycling Website with useful information for starters, videos, interviews, reviews and all this stuff.

Me and Guilherme in the start were planning to use a PHP system with a Control Panel to publish news, pics, videos, team profiles and to translate the site (we'll it in English and in Portuguse in the start... Probably French and Spanish later). Was searching around the web that I saw the Joomla (About Joomla.

It's a CMS, content manager. We found some extensions that would work perfectly for our necessities.

Our biggest problem is developing the template. I downloaded a tool for dreamweaver (Joomla Template Kit 3.0), and I'm trying to create it but I didn't had ANY results!

First, I want to know if anyone worked with Joomla in the past, or can give us tips of a better way to make our website!

Second, can anyone give tips on the layout developing?!

Thanks, Pedro and the Brazilian Team

How much do you know about building web sites? A foundation in HTML, CSS and possibly PHP might be important, if not necessary.

I found a cool tutorial for Mambo and Joomla here: http://www.mambosolutions.com/dw_tutorial/#dw_extension

I'm working on it right now...

If anyone have more tips, we're open!

Thanks!

You can send a PM to JohnnyReggae on these forums. He has setup (and maintains) the AmaOneTya website which is on the Joomla platform.
