as far as rock goes, i found some pretty good hard japanese bands worth checking out. if you like it somewhat hard check out "maximum the hormone." they have some good hard songs. um. as far as english bands, try disturbed, mudvayne, there's just too many to list. lately i've been liking the jrock (japanese rock). try "gackt" and "girugamesh."
