Nice. Thats one upgrade I really need to make. Alex DX rims suck for trials.

Yeah, I know. I've been using mine for about four years now and I just can't get it to bend. I've been doing big drops with bad landings, missing pedal grabs and bashing my spokes, never adjusting spoke tension, and the wheel just stays in true.

Wait.

That sounds like a good rim!

What are you talking about, max? If the rim "sucked" why would it be the stock wheel for UDCs trials unis?

He is saying that there is a reason that manufactures are starting to move towards wider rims. Less fold over allows for softer tire pressures, as well as a more predictable hop and less pinch flats.

I really dont think his issue was a complaint towards the strength of the rim.

Oh yea, by the way Emile. Pretty parts. Gotta love that square box, eh?

Alex DX32 rims are extremely strong. I'm not saying they're weak at all. But they are so narrow and unstable that they are not very good compared to the wide (and still pretty strong) newer rims on the market.

As for the UDC trials unis (I assume you are talking about the Nimbus ISIS trials unicycle), they come with a Nimbus trials rim, not Alex DX32. The Nimbus rim is wider than the Alex DX32, although only by about 4mm.

My current uni.

I'm buying the 08 KH frame as soon as it comes out (I'll strip the paint an paint in black).

I unbuilt my wheel like a few hours ago, I'm getting money and I'm buying spokes right now. I'll cut them, then I'll paint my hub and I'll continue building my wheel tomorrow and later if it's not done yet.

I'll go to my local hardware shop right now to see if they have purple paint. I would be way cooler for the hub and pedals then black.

I'd paint the hub since it rarely makes contact with anything, so the paint shouldn't chip. Pedals are another story though, it defiantly worth buying purple pedals since the paint will come off of the other ones really quickly. Those animal pedals are great, I've tried them on someone else's trials uni.
