I presume it will replace firefox 2 when it does 'officially' come out but will it force you to ditch the older version for the newer one if you do decide to download it?

I still run IE6 at home as it acts as my ftp which IE7 will not do. I only ever run IE to test out websites for standards and compliancy issues, I don't like it but it's not as bad as some make out.

When I do webdesign I'd say I spend about 60% of the time designing the page perfect in Firefox and then 40% of the time making it work in IE. It's not too bad if you use a strict doctype.

Yes it will, in IE7 if you are at an FTP site, just go to the page menu and select "Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer" and it will act just like IE6 does. Also, the shortcut would be to just open up "My Documents" or any other Windows Explorer folder and enter the FTP url in the address bar there and it will treat the FTP as IE6 does.

If you must use IE, please at least use IE7, its a bit more secure than IE6 and will render newer web pages more properly.

It is too bad, if they all just stuck to the standards as they should we could be spending 100% of our time getting the real work done. Its not so much in the XHTML/HTML sector that IE fails for me but instead with rendering CSS and in that case it doesn't really matter which doctype you are using.

will all my plugins and skins work on FF 3, or will I have to wait individually for each creator to update their stuff?

Just got mine.

A couple of my plug-ins have been replaced with on-board versions.
I hope.

It does a search of your old ones to see which are still compatible (or can be updated) when you first start it up after installing. I didn't have many, so I'm not sure how many will actually still work... but all of my useful ones still work (flashblock, noscript, downthemall...)

I'm missing my 'CLOSED TABS LIST' from TabMixPlusfor purposes of undoing and my VIDEO DOWNLOADER for saving YouTube videos and the like.
I'm sure I'll get it figured.
