Wow, non-stop riding for over 4 hours? Impressive! Did you have any saddle sores?

Scottish Highland Games complex
Love my 29er for riding the asphalt bike path at Barren River Lake. The tarmac is cracked by roots because it goes so deep in the woods and, with trees comes roots to destroy the path. It makes me worry about the long term sustainability of the Louisville Loop where it cuts through Jefferson Memorial Forest. It does make for a fun challenge set up for road riding with shortened cranks, elevated saddle, extended handle bar, and higher tire pressure. I also brought my 26er (not pictured here) to MUni the dirt Mountain Bike trails at Lock 4 This is the first year I've left my geared 36er behind. I don't really miss it. Even with a wider knobby tire, the 29er handles fine on the road.
Here are some pictures from this morning. Notice the Whitetail Deer by the restroom? A little further down the path there is a babbling brook. Finally, there is a picture of Glasgow & gathering of the Scottish Clans. I would very interested to hear from Scottish unicyclists about the competitions but I would imagine them to be Festivus type feats of strength like the Caber toss. ![]()

I'm sorry, I'm not at Unicon now. Even though I had registered before, I answered to good job offer and now I sail alongside Norwegian coast. To do not become mad during 3 month's stay on the vessel I took my muni with me and enjoy riding with average of once per 3 days
![]() Unfortunately I haven't got connection cable to my laptop to transfer pics from my mobile. I need to ask passer-byes to take some pictures and send them to my mail. It works ![]() Thats my saturday's ride in Mandal - Norway. For all who are at Unicon in Brixen - Enjoy the event! ![]()

Visiting Unicycle.com in Budapest, Hungary
Unfortunately I couldn't bring along my unicycle for my European vacation (would really have come in handy) but I did get to visit the Unicycle.com in Budapest, Hungary. As luck would have it, look who happened to show up during my short visit. Famed trials unicyclist Mark Fabian! So cool to meet him in person after watching many of his incomparable feats on video.

Norway is beautiful but for unicycling... hmm. It's difficult to find some good tracks for muni because it's very rocky country. Hiking paths are very narrow and difficult. Most of them are very row and wild. Many times I sow only marks, no paths at all. On top of mountains I found recently a lot of marshes. Yesterday from total of 2 hours trip I made 1 hour difficult hiking with my muni on back. But they got a lot of nice asphalt roads, perfect for uphill. I do a lot of long uphills, I'm glad of this because this gives me a chance to keep my legs strong while sailing for 3 months. I'm sure, if I would stay ashore for long period I will find some perfect tracks. However, for at most 8 hours free time in each port without maps its quite difficult.

And now for some MUni! Lock 4 Mountain Bike trail on Old Hickory Lake in Gallatin Tennessee. It's an 8.5 mile loop consisting of 16 "belts"...numbered BLT1 through BLT16. I did them in order. Yellow arrows mark the main trail. Some of the belts are easier than others, but none are very technical. The trail is relatively smooth but has some really fun downhills and drops perfect for my skill level at MUni. Since the park is on a peninsula, it's hard to get lost.

Per GPS and MapMyRide, yesterday was "a 6.7 mi Bike Ride in Missoula, MT. The Bike Ride has a total ascent of 1,059.71 ft and has a maximum elevation of 4,770.34 ft." Mostly hardpack single track, with a number of steep sections. Maybe not huge, but it's my most signficant muni ride since breaking my leg. Back in the saddle, baby!
