Haha, I had exactly the same thought.
According to the most authoritative source on the internet: The term hosepipe is chiefly British, South African and southern U.S. usage; garden hose (more commonly just hose) is the predominant term in other English-speaking countries. The term "hose" is also used for other types of flexible,water-carrying tubes such as those used by fire departments.

![]() British humour is interesting and not always "got" by other nations, I adore Monty Python, Faulty Towers and other classic 70/80s comedy. That said I do find American sitcoms funny as well. Currently my comedian of the moment is Russel Peters A Hilarious Indian Canadian who would have thought it!!! Someone gonna get a hurt! |

A few years ago I was on a business trip to San Francisco.... there was about 40 of us in the group and we were taken to a comedy club...... 3 comedians in a row couldnt get a laugh out of us, poor guys were pulling their hair out!!!
Yup comedy doesnt always cross the atlantic well
