my tire just exploded yesterday

hey guys!

i guess i must of had too much air in it or something.
cause a couple days back i had noticed that part of the tire wasnt fully tucked in the the rim thing(silver part). (the wheel almost looked bent)

so i deflated it and tried to fix it and it looked a little better so i inflated it and rode around for a while.

then a couple days later every thing seems fine but on one of my mounts i hear an EXTREMELY LOUD fire cracker sound i get off look down and i got a flat tire.

so now i am looking to replace it.
would a bicycle shop be suitable to get a new tire/wheel?

You probably didnt have the tyre seated on the rim properly.

I had that happen on my Torker LX 20" with the stock tire.

I had just ridden through some water earlier. That tire was fairly easy to get off, so I think the rim is a little "loose" for the tire, and it managed to slip around some where it could pop off.

You shouldn't need a new rim, and probably not a new tire. Check the tire size; it's likely to be available at your local bike shop if it's not an odd size.

How old is the tyre? Sometimes after a while the wire in the bead of the tyre can stretch. It has happened loads of times on my bmx when the tyres have gotten really old and worn out. I have never been able to rescue it once its popped off the rim, they will never seat properly again.
It could also be that you have dented your rim, you could have a flat spot that the tyre can pop off of. Check both of the above, if its the tyre then just get a replacment tyre. If its the rim, have fun lacing up a new wheel!

Good points- when that happened on my Torker, the tire was pretty worn, so I just went ahead and replaced it, I didn't try to reuse to see if it would work.

there are 2 problems i guess the rim is bent and the tire exploded.
