Front Page News

So I made the front page of the New Britain Herald (the local newspaper).

http://www.newbritainherald.com/WebA...eature_1915987

It's been an exciting few days.

So what you're saying is you've been hanging around the tavern lately.

That's seriously the best response I've gotten about this article yet.

Seriously,mind-blowing.Good for you. Keep your head down.
Best from the right coast of Canada, where riding a lobster takes a certain amount of balance and very short reins.

When I first looked at the picture I thought you were wearing a kilt because of the fabric pattern. I dare you to do that stunt in public while wearing a kilt and tartan boxers.

No kilt, just plaid pants. I've got to find a better outfit, something somewhat professional for next time.

As for a kilt and tartan boxers, I'm not sure how much the people on the ground would see, but I'm sure my safety belayer up top would find it halarious.

Wow, very cool! But do you do it "just like Houdini" as the caption says? I understand he used shoulder dislocation as one of his "tools" for straitjackets...

Uh, and you don't have to answer that, of course.

My straight jacket, and the jackets houdini used are very different. I use a modern posey straight jacket, 3 arm loop, crotch strap, and friction buckles. As far as I know, arm loop didn't come into style untill somewhat recently, and up until the most recent itteration of this jacket, most had only a single arm loop.

Anyways, the short answer is that although I perform the escape way differently than he did, because of the diffrent style jackets, I still dislocate at least one of my shoulders.

Eww. I can do the dislocation part too, but I think I'll keep looking for a "good" use for that skill...

It's usually a naturally occurring "skill". One discovers that their joints can dislocate easily (or easier than most).
I can dislocate my right arm and my right wrist.
