Ride For Fun
|
I picked up a $100 bill somewhere along my travel. I checked it at a bank and oooh it was fake. They said just to make sure not to try to spend it. It is a bit larger than a normal bill but is hard to spot. I did write fake across it though. If such talent was put to good use it could go far.

Is blackmailing legal? You could ask for money from the people you bought the piano from and promise you won't let the police know...tons of possibilities

Yo I would definatley get rid of it or something. Some guys I know were into that counterfieting stuff and without any warning at all they had all sorts of federal dudes and police show up at their house and take them away. I haven't heard from them since and this was almost 2 years ago.
I know people say "do the right thing" and turn them boys in, but think of it like this. What happens if they remember they left that shit in the piano and get busted? They'll know it was you and maybe they'll do something maybe they won't but I wouldn't test it. Just sayin'

id take it to the police, otherwise you dont know what may happen, taking it to them gets them out of your way and you wont end up getting caught out by it something

You'll do what you'll do, but even though it's on ink jet, it doesn't mean that it wasn't a serious counterfeiting attempt. The paper that real bills are printed on is a completely different animal as everyone knows.. Hard to mimic, expensive and complicated to reproduce. It's in the realm of possibility that the bills you found were tests of some sort and you don't actually have their final versions. There could be finger prints on that paper or other evidence that could lead to actual counterfeiter and not just someone screwing around. I'd say that as soon as you posted this on the internet, you have exposed yourself regardless of the actual intent and actions of the people that made the copies. Sure the chances are that the people or persons that did the deed were just screwing around, but you're in it now. If you destroy it that's up to you. If you don't make any calls, that's up to you. If somehow your thread winds up in the hands of the Secret Service or the Treasury Department, that's on you. Good luck.

Did you hear about the counterfeiter that messed up on the zero's for $10 bills and decided it was easier just to change them to $18 bills? We went to some back woods store to change them in for legitimate bills; the clerk asked if he wanted the change in $3's or $6's.
