Dang I really feel out of the loop. I haven't been on a uni since I started this 9-5er 2 months ago. I'll be out of town from April 19-27, so no Baker's Dozen
. Nova Max, what weekend were you planning the Belle Isle ride for?

I'm not sure if the March of Dimes is on April 19th or not...my wife said otherwise but Dave C. said it was on April 19th. At any rate, if you want to ride with us in Fredericksburg VA on Saturday of 4/19/08, please RSVP.
I need to know who is coming because we need AT LEAST 2 teams of 3 to play unicycle hockey. Dave won't bring his equipment for unihockey unless we get this many people, plus I need to know so I can reserve the gym for us, which is coming out of mine and Dave's pocket ($). Also, because my wife scheduled a house warming party (for our new home), I might have to end the day by 4PM ( MAYBEEEEE.... ) but if we start early, we should have plenty of time to ride for the day. I realize people are coming from OUT OF STATE to this event...and since it is our first "annual" Unicycle-Fredericksburg (UniFred) event, I want to make the most of it.Please pass this event info along to other local unicyclists and contact me if you have questions. So far, we have a few "maybes" for attendees. |

Possible DC Ride on 7/12
We're in the process of planning the July unicycle / juggle gathering...mentions of the weekend of July 12-13 are in discussion. I am suggesting Saturday the 12th because I am unavailable on the 13, due to family arrangements.
If you're not in our VA/DC/MD email list and would like to be kept in the loop, shoot me a PM with your personal email and I'll add you to our email list. |

Should be at least 7 of us unicyclists in DC!! Here's Joe's latest on the event:
Great to hear you can make it Joey. Here's the rundown. Matthew and Myself will be coming into DC early in the morning with my van and trying to park down by the tidal basin. You guys can either try bringing your car into the city, or come in by Metro. I'd recommend taking the Metro to the Smithsonian stop. If you need help with Metro directions let me know, or check out http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/systemmap.cfm. Since Dylan's grandparents were so good to us last time we'll be providing drinks and lunch. Bring your 20" and anything else you think you can carry while riding the Metro. We should have enough juggling props for passing and any impromptu show opportunities. The plan is to start around 8am on the Mall near the tidal basin, which is just south of the Washington Monument. Once we have everyone together we'll do a tour of the monuments, i.e. Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, WWII, etc., and take some group unicycle photos around them. We have a dodgeball and some sports cones to play games on the fields (we haven't been able to get ahold of any hockey/lacross equipment). We can have lunch in the shade by the tidal basin and then go exploring in the afternoon. If you've got any ideas or suggestions please hit us back. Also, if you want, feel free to post this on the unicycle.com forums. We should have enough lunches for a few extras if we get them. Joe Levesque |

yes, I have added you and David (adjuggler) to our list. I've had this email list for quite a while and we've been using it to organize the previous 3 or 4 unicycling events we've held already. Hopefully we'll get the DC ride going on the 12th. I'm still waiting to hear from Matthew Bishop of UMD (he and Joe L. seem to be the club leaders of Maryland). I will keep you posted of event stuff via email, since it's easier to get everyone's attention by email all at once.

Selling some stuff
I'm selling my 29"
Here is the thread http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72520 If you're interested, I will give it to you in person so you don't have to pay shipping (IF you are from Northern VA/DC/MD or Richmond areas). |

This coming Saturday (Sept.13), we will be riding up in Northern Virginia. thisi s mostly a Street/trials/freestyle ride and will take place in parks &/or a skatepark. All are welcome to join us, but it will be informal so bring your own food, beverages, and contact me if you need more info. If you're on our emailing list, you'll get this message in more detail. I know people like to use the forums but I prefer to email news and messages about events because I can't depend on people visiting forums to get that information. Email is more direct.
We'll probably be riding in Arlington or somewhere in NOVA...like I said, check your emails. I'm also offering rides for people traveling from Richmond and south of Stafford. |
