I have not ridden a unicycle since april...

Up until last night, that is.

I was quite suprised. I had never even been on a 5 footer before, and last night I got on one and rid it perfectly. I could idle also. So I guess it really is like riding a bike, you never forget!

Rid it of dust? Of fleas? Did you exorcise demons from the beast?

Unlike English, which you seem to have forgotten some time ago.

rode.

EDIT: hey, you have to AT LEAST give me credit for trying. I put punctuation in and try to spell my words right instead of using all the stupid "shortcuts" like "u" for "you". and i try to present my sentences to be understandable.

In some dialects, "rid" is an acceptable form of "rode". It is an equivalent of "writ" instead of "wrote", or "frit" instead of "frightened".

Share Dunawan's joy at riding the big unicycle and don't be churlish about the typing, or we'll all be waiting to pounce when you nod.

I have only had the opportunity/time to ride twice in 2008, and less than once a month for the later part of 2007. It's only this forum that makes me feel like I'm a unicyclist at all, sometimes. And when I do get back on one, I always rediscover the special joy and wonder why I've left it so long.

Dun, were I Miss Ayelery's aid, I'd have graded your report with a "B-". While you score points for avoiding l33t and text-speak, you also lose points for fragmented sentences and subject-verb disagreement.

Sorry, folks, I'm just down-trodden by the vaccum produced by Miss A's absence. I'm trying to fight the good fight.

I am certainly not girlish about stereotyping, and I never thought you to be a ponce... but with all the dialectal and social differences between us, we'll always run into these misunderstandings. Such is the Internet.

Don't worry about maestro8's attack Andrew. He seems to have become the professional complainer on this forum, and that is purely his problem. Not yours.

Besides, someone who can't spell "vacuum" properly is somewhat unqualified to moan at typical English mistakes. I'll certainly join in with Mikefule's pouncing when he nods.

Maestro is highly qualified to spell "vacuum" incorrectly. Physics degree if his profile is accurate.

On the internet, to complain about spelling and grammar is a high risk venture.

Interesting. I wouldn't have used the infinitive there...

Typical JC thread. We have gone from "not riding" to infinitives.

And now we are going to boldly go to split infinitives.
