125s. I have my seat up so the coker rides like a freetyle uni. Leggy pretty much straight on the downstroke.

I do have cycle-computer, with a dead battery. Its what I have been using though (before the battery died of course lol).

Ill try to get some pictures up once I get a new battery and get back on the track.

For track races at a convention you get to hold on to a pole to start. So you're already mounted with both feet on the pedals when the start gun goes off. It's still a standing start though rather than a rolling start.

From a standing start the race would be closer. The runner would have the advantage of being able to accelerate and get up to speed quicker. The unicyclist would have the advantage of having a slightly faster cruising speed. It's just a matter of if the unicyclist can catch up and pass the runner after their faster start.

If you watch my vid you'll see that i'm making about 2.5 full revoltuions per second; at least to me that's pretty fast! I run 127's at the moment, and I have hit almost 18 mph before with them, (and really felt like I was about to bail at any moment!) but today I just didn't hit my max...next time! Maybe 110's will give me some added speed...or maybe I'm just asking too much from this old body! I'm in good shape, but I'm not 25 anymore!

Hmm, I wouldn't trust a cycle computer. GPS or get a person to time you with a quality stop watch. If you really are doing 20 mph, that's a 3 minute mile, whiccih is way impressive! You still didn't clarify how long you keep that speed up; you mentioned you ride 50 laps (that's 12.5 miles) so do you maintain 20 mph for the whole distance? That just seems impossible--or you're the fastest unicyclist (to stay at 20 mph for 12.5 miles!) on earth!

On average I am anywhere from 14-16mph.
And as long as you have the cycle computer calibrated correctly, I would think it is much more accurate than GPS, as GPS is only +/- 3 to 15 meters. However, calibration is the issue, since we have no idea whether the bike computer is calibrated correctly.

Also, Terry, not all laps are 1/4 mile, though most are. The indoor track at my college is like 1/10 of a mile.

I'd *still* like to see that verified, not with a cycle computer; those can be significantly inaccurate even if it's programming is slightly off. But I'm sure Jerrick is close to that speed, which makes him my idol!

i didn't verify my 18mph speed on the 24", (ok, closer to 17mph) but i did time a 100m dash......is that good enough? or is some paranoid going to track me down and race me?

Wow even 17 mph on a 24?? That's insane! You were serious about 50mm cranks? That's about the only way I could even imagine anyone hitting that kind of speed on a 24!

Interesting video, it does take a lot to get those coker wheels up to speed.

Just wondering, why haven't you posted your past couple of videos in the video thread?
