This is a double-edged sword that could work to Kris's advantage. Those of us who are more status-conscious (it's not me; as proof, I offer up the fact that the vehicle I'm seen in most often is a 1996 Dodge Caravan in not-new condition) would be more inclined to upgrade/update their unis so that they always have the "new" uni color. This would allow them to avoid hearing disastrous comments at CMW or Moab, things like "Oooh, look at Peter. He's still riding that blue KH from 2006. How passé!" On the other hand, because I'd be the one riding the old, beat-up (or well-loved, as I prefer to think) muni, I might be a little resentful that the age of my muni was being so openly publicized to the world.

I don't know whether or not such a strategy would end up selling more unis or not, and given the eagerness with which people were awaiting the most recent shipment of 07 KHs I don't think Kris needs to worry too much about his sales.

yer i reckon just new colours with each year.

or have special editions like, stick with the blue each year but for each year model he has say 20 special edition unis that are a different colour and once theyr sold out thats it, its only blue left, then next year he will have another 20 special edition unis but a different colour to last years.

I do not know anything about paint technology ... but what about having a strong paint .... on top of which you can bomb-paint whatever you'd like.
So when you got small shocks then only your paint will get hurt.
that will be creative!!!

edit: moreover the shops could sell bombs!

hmm, this idea is really good. alos i think Kris could offer an unpainted frame, then powdercoating the uni yourself wouldnt be as hard

custom orders would be a lot more of a hassle than mass production.

That's the way to go; offer two options, painted/unpainted.

would it really? i know UDC offers some frames Chrome or Black, just have the scorll down options list and select painted or Unpainted. would it that much harder than having diffrent crank lengh options?

I think it also depends on their production costs as well if you want something custom made.

ive been seening it for the past 3 weeks, i found a good powdercoating place in my city, but i might just end up getting a KH wheel build and the Koxx russian White frame, cause idk about how much money im gonna have for powder coating

i plan on getting the KH from AE bikes, so its 360 there, in thinking 415 max, but i dont think my parents will let me powdercoat it cause in their minds a K1 is the same as a KH. im trying though
