Good question about the water cage holders, agentQ. I haven't mounted a cage yet though I do have one waiting in the wings. Of course the cages themselves will mount neatly, no problem there, but I'm not sure how the added weight of a full water bottle will feel. It will take some experimenting. I suspect that if I use them at all it will be a bottle either in the front or the back but not likely both.

For that matter, it is hardly ever that hot here and we are rarely that far from a source of beverages to feel compelled to load that much water on the uni itself.

I'll see how it goes. Actually I was toying with the idea of searching for one of those water bottle bolt mounted bike bags. I think I saw something like that a while back and thought it might be a nifty way to carry the little tool kit that I always bring along when I uni. This type of aplication for the water bottle cage mounts could end up being more useful to me than even the water bottle.

Anyone else seen these little cage mounted bike bags?

I've carried a bottle under the front of my T7 quite a bit. I didn't notice any handling difference; but I do carry a lot of stuff both on my uni and on my back (and it's a 36er, so it's huge anyhow). I find it's nice to have some energy drink with you and it saves carrying it on your back, even if you're not drinking whilst riding.

I've seen little screw-top tubs shaped to fit into a bottle cage designed to carry tools etc. You could probably also just strap a frame bag under the T7's front or rear.

For the pocket holder, wouldn't it be better to have a backpack or something simular. As for the light, you could have the light go through the handles. So it ends up looking like a headlight on a car.

Well i have my seat tilted back slightly so i can balance myself out when i'm holding onto the handles.

for your tools maybe you could find a container the same size as a water bottle with a big opening. Then you could put all your stuff in a sock then in the container.

It's sometimes nice (particularly in hot weather) not to need a backpack. Also it takes some weight off your crotch (albeit possibly at the expense of some handling ability on the uni).

A light can fit well on the T7's frame, just underneath the handles themselves; it stays out of your way there and is reasonably protected by the grips (if you're on a flat surface and have positioned the light carefully!) but it's easily switched on and off.

Likewise. Once I got used to it, the tilt was easy to handle and much more comfy than the flat configuration (this is with a Nimbus Gel seat).

Another neat trick that can be done with the T7 for wet weather riding is to fit a rear mudguard. I fitted a front crud-catcher mudguard onto the rear using the supplied elastic bands and I screwed it onto one of the bottle cage bosses for extra strength.

Re the bottle cage posses: be careful about knocking them, mine broke off and need fixing. Also, if you fit a rear bottle cage do be careful about whether it'll fit. On my T7 (there was a new design in the works) there's not much room to fit a bottle cage without it catching on the rail adaptop. The front cage is fine however...

Finally, another cool use for the cages would be to fit a super powerful HID light with a bottle cage mounted battery pack - night muni, yeaaaaaah!

When you use both handles on the handles the physics of riding the uni changes significantly! It is quite amazing to feel. You do feel like you are leaning forward more than usual but there's more to it than that. If you press down you get a really cool automatic surge reaction in pedaling that feels powerful and smooth. And interestingly enough when you pull upwards slightly you get a different kind of positive influence on the power and speed of the pedaling motion.

Really this aspect of utilizing the handle was an unexpected bonus. It is having a profound effect on the experience of riding the uni, taking it to another level.

The other thing that I've become aware of is, at this point anyways, is that I need to transition out of this power pedaling position gradually because if I just let go of the handles suddenly the return to the former geometry and pedal rhythm is so sudden that can feel quite unstable.

Before I had my T7 it felt somewhat unstable for me to put both hands on the KH seat handle, and indeed I would occasionally flail, and was tempted to flail more. I have a T7 since last week. After a little bit of getting used to, it is actually a lot easier to ride with both hands on the T7 handlebars than it is with both hands on a regular seat handle. I think this is because the handlebars are so far out to the front, therefore you can significantly influence the steering. And steering is as good as (or should I say even better than?) flailing, for balance corrections.

Like everyone, I like Erin's addition of grips and will look out for a pair. Even though I personally like that lot of blue.

When you press down, you tilt the unicycle to the front. Somehow your body follows (maybe because you inconsciously consider the seat as some kind of reference) and then you have to pedal faster to prevent falling forwards. That, I think, is the power surge that you experience. I experience the same thing and in fact I don't like it. I would like to put some weight on the handles 'permanently' and not feel this urge to pedal faster.

Pulling upwards on the T7 is similar to pulling the seat handle during MUni, e.g. when rolling up a hill. You can push harder on the pedals since you have a counterforce. Indeed that is "a different kind of positive influence on the power". You would think that as a converse to the above, since you tilt the uni backwards you would feel the urge to pedal slower. I for one don't experience that but I've pulled the seat handle during years of MUni so I probably compensate automatically. Now I've to learn compensating for pushing down the T7.

I'll never get it why everyone writes "pwn", it's "own". Do you own T7? Next time write "rules" or something like that so I can understand that. Isn't that some game language, but anyway I hate that word.

Nice uni and handle seems to look pretty nice, it makes me want 29er or 36er.

I found the bottle cage bosses on the rear section of my T7 to close to the seat post to mount a bottle cage. I was able to mount a mini pump. My T7 came with my new Nimbus36. It is way too much blue. I removed the KH handle from my seat to allow more room for mounting my computer on top of the T7.

First of all you got what he was saying anyway.
Second, pwn means own, it just comes from games accidentally pressing 'p' instead of 'o' in phrases like "My bazooka pwned you". It happened so much, and it was such an awesome word, it just stuck and made it into everyday language. I personally like the word a lot, and all sorts of things in my everyday life get pwned. Especially torkerdx.
