The Chinatown Bus: $35.00 R/T NYC to Washington, DC

I just did a trip on the Chinatown bus--there's a lot of them, all cheap, but Apex is among the most reliable. You cannot beat $35.00 for the round trip.

Many people avoid the bus, but I prefer it to driving. It was pretty cool. I slept mostly, as did everybody, and read a bit. Just a nice cheap trip.

I don't need much.

Easily could've taken the uni in the baggage compartment.

It also runs to Phila and Boston.

Anyone else know of ALWAYS available travel bargains?

Billy

Damn that is cheap, I wish our buses were that cheap. Pretty much the only bus I know of is greyhound around here, and it costs 95 bucks to go from Toronto to Ottawa and back on a student ticket. (its about a five hour ride)

I tend to take the bus whenever I'm going somewhere, until recently I couldn't drive and even now that I can bussing is way easier cause you can just sit and relax.

I have a hard time relaxing unless I'm doing the driving. Last time I took a bus, I totally didn't like the way the bus driver was driving.

Philly to NYC is $20 for round trip. Philly to Atlantic City is like $14 and you get $7 worth of gambling vouchers.

My brother was teaching and doing research in D.C. this past semester and took a $40 round trip bus to Penn Station a few times. It is a good deal.

Either the price went up, or he bought 2 1-way fares, or he got ripped off.
