I would argue it is likely a minority. A growing minority, but a minority of the people in this country nonetheless.

They must be dumb-dumb bullets, or rubber ones. Can't remember the difference.

how the hell many pools are designed to kill things in your area? Damn, you'd think a pool should be safer than murder machines...

you may think that they are murder machines but for me they are the source of the majority of my food (yes my diet is meat centered) guns have their place in society but they are not for everyone.

yes, so you murder animals with them.

Don't get me wrong i don't have a problem with that, you just can't claim that a gun isn't a 'murder machine' because you eat the animals that you kill with it.

Merriam Webster says murder is "the crime of unlawfully killing a person" so you can't murder an animal and only unlawfully killing a person is murder.

I've been shopping for furniture and haven't gotten to it yet. But I've talked a girlfriend into going with me so I don't feel so out of place when I go.

Good for you. Be safe and have fun. This thread had gotten somewhat off topic.

Princeton University's WordNet says murder is to "kill intentionally and with premeditation", but the point is that a gun is still a killing device, even if you feel that your killing is justified, moral and lawful.

Update for anyone interested - if you live in NY anyway, you HAVE to have a license to fire a handgun, and you have to already have purchased a handgun to get a license! I realize I can take a course where they use air guns or dry-fire, but the next safety course with spaces left isn't until July. I guess I'll go to the gun store and then fill out all the paperwork, as it takes about 3 months to get the license. It won't be the stupidest thing I've ever tossed my money at.

Gun licenses only apply to people who are privileged, such as 14th amendment US Citizens. If you are a natural born person in a State of the union, you do not need a license, as you have the right to bear arms.

I am also rather concerned by your reference, in a later post in the thread, to army piercing bullets. You have me worried.
