There's a vid on YouTube of the preparation of Saddam to be hanged. They show right up to about where that NY Times picture was captured, so nothing gory. He looks calm yet sad.

I don't think killing him was the wrong thing to do. To imprison him for maybe 5-10 years would waste important money that should not be spent on a man like him and, as many people have said, would probably cause troblem in Iraq itself! I just don't think people should be jumping for joy.
