South-West uni meet next Saturday 21st. Who's going?

Just a little reminder to UK riders that precisely six days from now, the SWUM in Exeter will begin.

I've only been to the unimeets in Kidderminster so far which seemed to be highly variable in terms of attendance, and thus how many things happen. I've only heard good things about SWUMs so it seems that many will be there. Being rather unskilled I intend to do more "meeting" than riding, and maybe make an attempt at some good filming (wishful thinking).

So that's me in, who else is coming?

That's blatantly untrue! Some of the best plumbers and electricians in
the UK at the moment are polls!

STM (not attending by the way)

Perhaps I will make the trip for SWUM one day, but not this weekend - have a good one.

Bump. Less than two days to go! Last few chances to get your "vote" in.

Got the sat-nav programmed, charging the first of many batteries that I'll need, brushed my muni clean and found the pedal spanner so I can exchange my metal pedals for plastic ones. Just need to buy a sandwich for Saturday lunchtime, set the alarm for 7am, and I'll be all set!

Thank you for continuing my work. There are only two polls presently in RSU and JC. They are, of course, pointless. Their numbers are diminishing. This is a good thing.

W.R.T. the thread: I will have been there. I did not see that option in the "poll."

Hmm, even this innocent poll seems to have plucked harper's stress-strings.

While I agree that many silly polls have been posted in Just Conversation over the past couple of months, that is little excuse to come down on this sensible poll like a ton of bricks.

I'm asking if people are coming to this event, to get a picture of which riders that I and everyone else will be seeing there. It is a heck of a lot quickier and easier to answer Yes or No with two clicks as opposed to going through effort and time to compose and post a reply, although that option is still open if people want to.

If you still think this poll is pointless, picture this: it's only a few weeks away from a major uni event such as NAUCC or Moab that you're going to. By chance, you meet a rider that you know. Are you seriously saying that you never ask "Are you going to this event" to them?

You'll see that ten people have answered "yes", so that's at least ten people who disagree with you that this poll is pointless, Gregory.

Did you not notice that this poll closes exactly one minute before SWUM starts?

Quite the contrary. I'm excited that someone else is taking up the slack in the anti-poll campaign. Hardly stressed. I'd say giddy is more accurate.

You're right. One should come down on "sensible" polls like a ton of potatos...if one can find a "sensible" poll.

Ten people smash their toes with a hammer and then light themselves on fire and say it is a good thing to do. It must be a good thing, then.

Ten people think the capital of Morocco is Helsinki. It must be then. Ten constitutes a quorum.

Whoa, lighten up people
Gavin: stop winding people up.
Harper: don't take the bait - he's just out to wind people up at the moment.
Jeez.

Rob. We're having fun. We're just trying to see who can sink the hook the deepest. I like bait. I eat sushi all the time.

Robert, where did you get the idea that I'm winding people up? I'm actually incapable of being nasty to anyone, let alone winding people up. I've been wound up more times than a mechanical alarm clock myself, and I know it isn't nice.

I quite like harper really. After all, if he didn't invent his Blueshift, I probably wouldn't be riding a Sclumpf 29er today. I'll be bringing that along, and rob.northcott will be one of the few people who'll be able to ride it (the seatpost is at it's lowest height, and perfectly suitable for my telescopic legs).
