goodbye Erik Dekker
During the 3th stage (in the netherlands) Erik Dekker his Tour d' France came to a soon end.
He had bad injury on his face, and today he decided to end his carreer. After the Olympics in Barcelona (where he won Silver at the roadrace!), we were riding for the same club. He won Criterium International, Paris-Tours, The Amstel Gold Race, and at least 4 stages in the Tour, and much much more. And as much succes he had, he had bad luck as well. But he always was hard working and fighting back. Untill this time. During a race on the Dutch Antile Curacau he will pull the brake-lever for the last time, and become team manager. I guess at the Rabobank team. Last edited by leo; 2006-08-07 at 09:49 PM. |

![]() He was one of the riders who could make an early break last and make the race interesting. |
