Unless you're like SurlyDave and ride on ice and stuff (didn't know that Dave--my bad in calling you a dork), the LM/Duro combo is really the way to go IME. We first tried the LM with a Gaz and it not only didn't fit my KH frame, but was simply too much tire for even the gnarliest Muni. The LM rim increases the width of the Duro quite a bit (it's basically about 65 mm wide once mounted) and more tire than that isn't necessary unless you are on sand or loam or ice or something. Plus, it starts making the rig hard to turn on a dime.

So far the LM Duro is the first choice for us, but other combos we've yet to try might work better. We're all learning what works with what, but there's no doubt in our minds that the LM rim is a breakthrough piece of technology so far as Muni goes. No one who has one thinks otherwise.
