Unicyclists in Nome, Alaska

I'm applying for a job there... is anyone riding up there? In Alaska anywhere?

That will make it rather unlikely you and Bear will be able to make next years' LBI Unithon.

George Peck, who is about 65 now, is Alaska's most famous unicyclist. He was in Seward. Rough Terrain Unicyclilng is an article about him that was published in the Atlantic Monthly in 1997.

There are other unicyclists in Alaska.

Its a fixed term appointment, 9 months...might just be back in time for unithon! I might have to ask if they will hold my job in PA for me while I am gone.

Sounds like you will need chains for your uni tire.

I looked up the weather and they really don't get that much precip there. The Keweenaw Penninsula of Michigan, where I used to live, gets much much more snow. So does Marquette, where Musketman and uni-steve511 live.

Chains or at least studs might be a good idea for the ice, though some say riding a uni on ice is easy!

There are a lot of things that have to fall into place between now and me taking that job, so I don't know if it will happen, but we'll see!

Nice tires!! Maybe! Depends on if I get it and what the job pays.

And Bugman, you are insightful!
Indeed, I already have plans in store for looking at mammoth turds, AK or not! I actually have connections with mammoth-impacted soils in Eastern WA. I think in AK I will be looking at muck ox and reindeer turds.

Blake,

Last I heard there were no unicyclists or job openings in Alaska.

Why do mammoths get all the press and attention? Mastodont turds need to be studied too. How do you tell the difference?
