Video Tutorial Request Thread

Hey Amanda, Mike (swarbrim), and I (maybe others will help to) were thinking of making a few video tutorials for different tricks. Freestyle, flatland, street, trials, or whatever.

Depending on how many requests there are, there will probably be a new video once a week or once every two weeks.

Post your requests here (no tricks like 1080 unispin body variel 1 footed triple crankflip)

If you can create these as AVI or MPEG4 files (WMV is a pain), I could convert them to iPod format, which also works on the PSP and other portable video players. Or point you at the info on how to do it.

This would be useful as you would not have to be sitting at a computer to see them, but take your portable video device out to where you are riding. Or show other people what cool stuff you can do on a unicycle :-)

Cheers,
Tom

Personally i prefer WMV for videos.

But as for tricks id like to see tutorials of:
Wheel Walking
Unispins(any degree)
Varials(also any degree)

Thats it for now..Im sure ill think of more later.

MPEG4 will work on a wider variety of devices (portable video players, cell phones) AND computers (Mac and PC). Then one version works for everyone. Making WMV's is not a big deal. The hassle is starting with WMV and trying to create something else.

It would also be good to have normal speed and 1/2 speed versions of the videos so the trick/tutorial can be seen in detail without having to stop and start the video.

Wheelwalking is a good start. I still can't do them.

If you are going to make tutorials though, try to make them a bit more in depth than some of the others I have seen. Show transitions into them, ways to learn, and other subtle hints than no one will think are important. I already know to lean back, so show us some magic secrets.

Ok, im thinking wheel walk will be the first tutorial. Are there any specific parts of the trick that anyone wants to be covered/gone in depth in?

Moving your feet from the pedals to the crown.
Foot positioning on the crown.
How to push the tire without losing balance.

That should do it for me.

For wheel walking, I can go into it either foot from a static mount, start with a foot on the frame, then mount right into the WW, idle into a WW, One-foot into a WW, or just go from riding to a WW. I think I can do more variations of just getting into it, nothing fancy like 360 unispin to WW, but just basic ways. The main problem I have is getting back into regular riding.

I can help on the double flips... I reckon I might be able to give a 180 a go.

Mike

[Edit] Doubles arent that much harder, I have some tips that can help.

i just learnt how to ww last night i can go across my garage which is about 10 pushes but getting back on the pedals is hard for me. I 've got back on the pedals before but i'm pretty sure it was just a fluke. Some tips on getting back on the pedals would be greatly appreciated.
