Animals that roll

The only one I can think of besides my 7 year old kid is the pill bug (a.k.a. isopod, sow bug, rolly-polley) and only for defense not transportation.

What other animals roll themselves? Seems an efficient method of moving down hill.

Hedgehogs, again for protection rather than transport.

I'm 70% sure there is a creature that sits in tumbleweeds for transport, I kid you not. Lemme see if I can find it on the net.

<edit> okay, now I'm 10% sure. But I think the tumbleweed is an organism that rolls for transport. That's how it spreads it's seed or something.

All I can think of are those cool droids from Star Wars that roll up in a ball and then unfold and start shooting those big laser cannons. But I guess those aren't animals.

A tortoise will roll if it slips down a hill!

In the Namib Desert of Africa lives the White Lady Spider, which can tuck its legs partway up and cartwheel down the slope of a sand dune. I first learned about this creature from a beautiful National Geographic documentary called The Living Sands of Namib, which aired on PBS way back in the late 70's. I devoured this kind of programming as a kid, and saw this show two or three times when it was rerun. The rolling spider sounds like one of those hoop-snake folk legends, but I remember the scene vividly because it was so dang freakin' cool.
