Queen is definitely one of the best. Too bad Freddy Mercury was a flaming homosexual, or maybe we could've been treated to his incredible voice just a bit longer.

We weren't deprived of his music because he was a flaming homosexual. We were deprived of his music because he died of AIDS. There are a lot of flaming homosexuals who don't have AIDS, and there are a lot of people who have died of AIDS who are not flaming homosexuals.

Back in the days of vinyl (they used to press music onto it, believe it or not), I had all of the first eight albums that Queen recorded. Great stuff!

Rich, I realize that - my post was more of a mockery of the typical gay = AIDS stereotype.

I actually like flaming homosexuals - they're pretty funny, and can help me pick out what to wear.

Sorry, missed the mocking.

Mercury was awfully creative, that's for sure! Too bad he never updated one of the songs on "Jazz": seems to me like "I want to ride my unicycle" would have been great lyrics.

A real fan would own the full albums and not a greatest hits compliation.

Queen is one of my favorite bands. They made some unique music. I have a bunch of their albums on CD. The first ever vinyl LP album that I ever bought was Queen's News Of The World with We Will Rock You on it. I still have that album and still own a turntable so I can play it.

Their final album, Made In Heaven, is a very nice tribute to Freddie. It's one of my favorite albums.

The one thing I don't like about Queen is that they panned some of their music to the left and right which makes it a strange sensation when listening with headphones.

I used to love listening to "The Prophet's Song" in headphones! What a trip!

It was a completely tongue in cheek comment, thus the smiley. I should have put the winking smiley there, but I like that cute pink one.

I read a newspaper article a year or two ago about how the young folks are discovering Queen and other classic rock in part due to the dearth of creativity in current contemporary music and also because they need to fill up their MP3 player. I remember that article because it had a picture of a young teen specifically mentioning Queen and mentioning that they filled their MP3 player with Queen. Not sure if they were legal downloads or not, but no bother to me. They're listening to Queen and better for it.

Queen are awesome. My father used to love them, and we'd listen to them all the time. But then thigns changed, and he stopped listening to it. But I still isten to it. That was how I was introduced to it. I have a few songs by them. I love them a lot. But they aren't my favourite band or anything.

Er... is that you in your avatar? If so, they're not helping...
I like flaming homosexuals, but I prefer them grilled over a low light, and served with a nice Chianti.

I read some figures yesterday. There are more heterosexuals with HIV/AIDS than homosexuals with HIV/AIDS in the UK. On the other hand, there are more heterosexuals to catch it.

All the best rock and rollers die tragically. Buddy Holly - plane crash; Eddie Cochran - taxi crash (cheapskate!); Sid Vicious - suicide after murdering his girlfriend; Bon Scott - not taking enough water with it; Elvis, er... died on the toilet... Roy Orbison, died in his mother's arms, and never sold another record.

When someone widely loved and admired, like Freddie, dies of AIDS, it does a little bit to break down the barriers of prejudice.

I, too, love Queen. I saw them on the Bohemian Rhapsody tour at the Beacon Theater in NYC. I had a thing for this girl, Riley K, who wrote a ballad called The Genius Behind the Eyes - or something like that, about Brian May. I dig the song Tenement Funster, mostly because it's a cool title.
