I like it alot! I have seen every movie on opening weekend including Episode 4 back in 1977. I bought Episode 3 last tuesday when it came out, and have watched it 3 times already and will probably watch it again later tonight.

Star Wars is one of those things that was kind of cool the first time I saw it as a kid, but the rabid fanaticism has completely turned me off.

Padme's "You're breaking my heart!" line almost killed Ep III for me. Much of the dialog is, well, crap... But the battles are cool. And Ewen McGregor kicks ass.
Semi-related, J.E. Jones cameos in Robots doing the Star Wars line (which is fitting, since McGregor is in Robots )

I am told that I attended episode IV in my mother's womb at a movie theater in Lake Placid, New York. The other two worth seeing, I attended in person.

I too attended A New Hope in utero. Sound wasn't too bad, but the image quality SUCKED!
In the end, it all works out. We see where Leia gets her hair from, and where Luke gets his whinyness from. I don't blame Portman for her acting, since the dialog was lacking... I don't know about Christenson (sp?) as I haven't seen him in anything else except the last Ecochallenge... And somehow, Obi Wans lines work. Is it McGregor, the script, or pure chance? These are the mysteries of the force of the Star Wars saga... |

I think that Star Wars for me was like ET, it was a cultural icon and for it's time, it was very advance. It really was very well done and all of my freinds and I saw it about 10 times each in Theatre.
Then, sadly, like making Steven Hawkings book a MOVIE, it lost all it's credibility and understanding when they tried to make the new ones. I think that the three new ones are ass and because the special effects are so much better now, it has almost completely ruined the first ones for me. Another part of our life and times destroyed by the cinema. Just my thoughts, Beener
