Hi,

Anybody unicycling down to Bush's ranch in Texas, to keep Cindy Sheehan company?

*CARLY'S POEM*
A Nation Rocked to sleep

by Carly Sheehan
Sister Casey KIA 04/04/04
Sadr City Baghdad

Have you ever heard the sound of a mother screaming for her son?
The torrential rains of a mother's weeping will never be done
They call him a hero, you should be glad that he's one, but
Have you ever heard the sound of a mother screaming for her son?

Have you ever heard the sound of a father holding back his cries?
He must be brave because his boy died for another man's lies
The only grief he allows himself are long, deep sighs
Have you ever heard the sound of a father holding back his cries?

Have you ever heard the sound of taps played at your brother's grave?
They say that he died so that the flag will continue to wave
But I believe he died because they had oil to save
Have you ever heard the sound of taps played at your brother's grave?

Have you ever heard the sound of a nation being rocked to sleep?
The leaders want to keep you numb so the pain won't be so deep
But if we the people let them continue another mother will weep

Would Bush enjoy life more if someone softened his heart? Is that what he fears?

I might like him to give this lady a break, and see her.

Billy

He should but I don't see what good it'll do. I think anyone any citizen of this country should be able to have an audience with the president. But Mr. Bush will only speak with those who have signed a loyalty oath. As long as he still has 50% of the country he doesn't much care what the rest think.

So his vacation is obviously more important than addressing the concerns of his citizens?

I love how Bush thinks that just ignoring a problem will make it go away.

She is not the only one that lost a family member, but she is making the effort to go down there etc. The last time she met with him he was rude to her and obviously made no effort to address her concerns.

there's over 250,000,000 people in the United States...it would be very hard for him to address the concerns of every one of his citizens.
honestly, this Cindy lady can't expect to go and discuss political matters over a cup of tea with the president. clearly she's not the only one concerned about the people in Iraq. I think it'd be better to maybe take a poll, so we can find out what the majority of the country thinks, then he can address the entire country at once about all this.
of course, he won't do that...he's dumb as a bush...

The latest AP-Ipsos poll puts approval for Bush's handling of the war at only 38 percent and his overall job approval at only 42 percent. (In addition, 50 percent of the country says he is dishonest and only 48 percent says he is honest.)

No, it's a Republic.

It's terrible that people have died in the war, but they did join the military voluntarily, and in doing so, they must have recognised that they were taking a risk. The men who died in Iraq helped to bring a much greater measure of freedom to the Iraqi people, as well as bring justice to the tyrant Saddam Huissein. Their sacrifice was not in vain, and their relatives should think about this and be proud, not sit around whining.

It is very important that President Bush have some sort of vacation. Being President is, I am sure, very tiring and stressful, so he needs a chance to rest once in a while, just like the rest of us.

heh, yeah, I know...nothin we can do about it now though, and I don't think that meeting one of the millions of people who have family in Iraq is going to change the nation's opinion.

That the people or Iraq are better off is arguable, don't say "well Sadaam Killed X many people" because we've killed X many more.

Also Bush takes more vacation than any other President in recent history, and the longest of any president ever during a time of war.

And Mr. Potter I am glad you think the president is dumb, although you seem to be somewhat right leaning you're not a complete idiot dittohead about it.
