Not at all. My hypothesis is that there is unanimity among riders that unicycling is merely an adjunct to clowning and I have set up a poll to test it. I should have put a time limit on the poll voting, but I believe after some period of time I will be able to establish, based on the parameters of my poll, that my hypothesis is correct. And unlike virtually every other poll, I will actually use the results for some purpose and announce them.

ok so:
1) why are the non-clown votes not going to be counted in the final tally?
2) i think most people on this forum are into extreme unicycling or somehting OTHER than clown uniycling
3) you don't need to "announce" the results because anyone can just look at the poll and see
4) i don't think many clowns would go on a unicyling forum because it is merely a part of their multifaceted acts, whereas many people on this forum do unicyling and unicycling only for many hours a week

I will be sure to include all these points in the footnotes to my published, peer reviewed research paper.

This is a well structured and well thought-out poll except that I am unable to vote in all three categories at once. I would like to see a button for "all of the above" and one for "none of the below" included but I realize that they could not be colored correctly. I was pleased to find that I was able to vote 70 times so I evenly distributed them in the eight categories now available. I would like to see more polls of this type in the future and in the past. Maybe buttons for "past" and "future" votes could be included as well as one for "more polls of this type."

Keep up the good work, Raphael, but try not to be so subtle. Were I your peer I would enjoy reviewing your paper. Please type it on a paper towel roll ala Kerouac to facilitate streaming.

I like this poll better, because it works. Since you can only choose one item in these polls, they have to include an "other" or similar choice for people who don't fit any of the other choices given. How come all the other poll-makers never figure this out?

For Harper, it's easy to choose "none of the above (or below)" by not voting.

That's my vote.

Raphael's tongue is buried so deeply in his cheek it is about to puncture it. Don't believe everything you read and don't take ANYTHING you read seriously. This is a fun poll and Raphael is a fun guy. Also, make sure you know what adjunct means in this context.

Ok, R, your cover's blown. You'll have to straighten up and contribute more meaningful stuff now. Quit being a clown! You really had me going there for a minute (notice tongue in Yooper's cheek).

By the way, good time to share fatherly advice. My Dad told me time and again as I was growing up, "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see."

The other meaningful one he always told me was, "You're full of stewed prunes and billygoat eggs"...I never understood that one. You might need to help me with that one, Raphael.

Since this is an "official" poll, I will cast my deliberate and well-thunk out vote.

Bruce-

You're a civil engineer. Can billygoat eggs exist? What happens when you add zero to something? What does that leave you full of?

Your father was (or perhaps still is) a wise man.

This thread is about an hypothesis not the scientific genius behind it, so please refrain from trying to analyze the mind and concentrate on the idea.

Bruce, stewed prunes aid in keeping one regular while billygoat eggs don't exist. My guess would be that being full of both is an indication that one spews forth nonsense. I don't know what that has to do with this thread.

We're concentrating so hard it hurts and yet we only seem to be able to spew. Perhaps we're contracting the wrong muscles. I just contracted my voting muscles again.

Since my clowning as solely an adjunct to unicycling, and not vice versa, I clearly cannot vote the first option.

If I vote "Other" my vote will not be counted in the final tally anyway.

Therefore, by not voting for the first option I have, by default, voted for the second option whether I have participated in the poll, or not (and so have the rest of you).

I spent way too much time pondering this question during my too short lunch break.
