If I member correctly it had no rankings of difficulties, although I think it did have suggestions of what to learn first and after. I'll prob get it and the club version again (and require collateral if I loan stuff out again).

Is there a video anyone strongly recomends? I was thinking about "Jason Garfield's Theory and Practice of Juggling"
That's a good video if you want to learn stuff like siteswaps and spins. His tutorial in that video on how to spin is really awesome and helped me a lot in learning 3up 360's. I've never been a huge fan of siteswaps, but his tutorials and things on that are also very informative.

By back-flip do you mean on the uni or do you mean throwing the club behind your back?
Also known as a "back-cross"?

Second steveyo on hydrophidian, great performance!
I love watching bounce juggling, but only at the very beginning myself. . .

I can now do the 4 ball fountain for ~25 throws and I can do Mills Mess as long as I want.

A week ago I figured out how to do a couple of cycles of the Box, now I can do ~ 20.

I've thought it'd be cool to do the 4 ball pattern 552 but I've never been able to do even one flash, so I omited the fourth ball. The pattern I was able to work out in the kingscascade simulator is 7077000, w/ the throws per second set to 6. Now I can do the occational flash starting on either side from cascade and back several times.

How are you jugglers doing?

I can now do the fountain ~ 20 -30 throws consistently and a PB of ~ 50. 2/1 anosynchrous w/ 3 balls helps
(4440, 4404 in the calculator)

A variation of Mill's Mess I figured is clawing the ball that goes back and forth underneath to the outsides.

Boston Mess was tricky at first but I got it after a while. I can also claw the two ouside balls on this but only occationally.
This vid helped. I especially like how he freezes one ball in the air (by hanging it from his ceiling fan) while he explains and shows whats going on. His other tutorials (42 so far) are also much easier for me to understand than most (but usually above my skill to seriously attempt).

I've been attempting juggling 3 balls but fail miserably... I have the idea down, as in the motions but it's a matter of executing it. In this sense, last year, I bought a diabolo (which to my understanding it's a form of juggling) that I can do a few things on.

And slightly related, I do yoyo, am pretty decent at it as yoyoing was a huge part of my childhood (good old Duncan Imperials and Butterflies...then Yomegas came into the scene with their transaxles and bearings).

I recomend people start w/ the 2 ball shower, then build up speed till it seems lie at least 1 ball is always in the air. Learn the other side as well then switch sides w/o a pause. I liked to do it in 5's: 5L, 5R, 5L, etc. Work your way up to 60 total. This is not the technique you use in the cascade, but it builds your accuracy, consistency, speed and it feels kind of like juggling making it more fun. Every vid I've seen recomends to not do this.
I like the been bags I make myself. 1/3 cup in a 12" party balloon tie a not on the end, chop off the extra. Repeat two more times.

Then start on the cascade w/ two balls. Do RL, RL, etc for ~ 30 times then reapeat starting w/ the left.

With, IMO, good reason

I run juggling workshops and pretty much the first thing I stress during the initial demo, is that the '2 ball shower' pattern is not only not a juggling pattern, and, not useful for learning to juggle, but, is actually counter-productive.

The number of people I've seen at workshops who say- "I can do 2, but not 3...." is in the thousands- all having aquired the 2ball shower habit, which has then totally crippled their chances of learning to juggle- until they encounter someone who explains to them that, 'no, you're not uncoordinated or useless, you've just learnt the wrong way to do to'.

You see, once someone's spent time on the 2ball shower and developed that 'zipping' motion on the bottom ball, it totally messes with their ability to do the 2 ball cascade pattern.

There are cures for it- I use a technique which involves deliberately not catching the balls, and then gradually building up to the proper 2 ball cascade pattern, but, in my experience, the single biggest reason some people can't juggle is because they have had the misfortune to have 'learnt' the 2 ball shower.

Just out of interest, what's your success rate for teaching people to juggle using the 2 ball shower pattern?

If it's not 100%, I really would suggest re-assesing the method, cos, those who walk away unable to juggle, are pretty much doomed to remain that way unless they are lucky enough to encounter someone who can 'de-program' them out of the zipping habit.

Theoretically it makes sense to practice the technique closest to what you want to do and it would take less time. It did take me a while to get myself to consistenly throw both balls to the same hight and at first I was shuffling one of the balls instead of throwing it like I wanted.

For me when I tried the 2 ball cascade, I was throwing balls accross the room and dealing w/ that much failure was depressing. The same has been true when learning most tricks I usually have to figure out a middle step from what I've been shown w/ two or even one ball.

Kids, say under 12, in my experience would usually need to start w/ the shower if any chance they will stick w/ it, considering the lower hand-eye coordination little kids have, and how easily distracted/discouraged they can be, w/o having some relatively quick success or regular incouragement. I make a point that it's not juggling yet but it'll help and I then show them the technique for the cascade w/ two balls. I always show someone the whole process w/ them trying each bit w/in 5 min.

Older kids and adults, it usually seems like it's 50/50 who could start directly w/ the cascade or who is uncoordinated like I was. I always start w/ the shower so even if the person who is interested in learning is very uncoordinated, or a friend they later teach is, they have a process they can practice that'll get them to the cascade.

Also, I find being very comfortable w/ a variety of patterns makes it easier to recover from mistakes and learn new tricks.

Figured I'd share my review of the soon to be released 32-Panel Tossaballs from www.flyingclipper.com

I had a ton of fun making this review and these beanbags are absolutely incredible.
