Wait!
Before someone corrects me!
Eye of the Tiger is not:
DAH! DAH-DAH-DAH! DAH-DAH-DAAAAHHHHHH....
It actually goes like this:
DAH!
DAH-DAH-DAH!
DAH-DAH-DAH!
DAH-DAH-DAAAAHHHHHH....
It is very important that this detail be expressed correctly....

OK, everybody talks about the problem as if there is no solution.

I imagine a big volume knob in front of me. I imagine my hand slowly turning the volume down. And the volume of the music goes down in my head. Sometimes the knob is hard to turn, but I keep trying and then the music gets softer and softer. Eventually I can't hear it. And it's gone. Silence.

I'm interested in whether anyone else has success using this mind-control technique, especially dogbowl.

Excellent Idea Dave! Let me be the first to try....
Ok, here it goes....
My hand is on the volume knob.
I'm turning it.
The music (fluctuating between Survivor and Chicago like two competing radio stations) begins to get softer....
The knob turns.
Volume goes down....
I'm consentrating....
Softer,
like falling snow....
Silence is starting to arrive....
The volume knob is at 6
then 5,
I can breathe. I can hear the birds chirping
the radio is going away. Calm, meditative sounds of wind blowing through the trees....
softer--the music is barely audible...
ahhhh.....silence at last....silence...
the sound of silence.....
hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk to you AGAIN!!!!!
DAMN YOU SIMON AND GARFUNKLE!!!!!!!
DAH!
DAH-DAH-DAH!
DAH-DAH-DAH!
DAH-DAH-DAAAAHHHHHH....
(I'll try again....) (But it's gonna be difficult...)

Like Heinlein said pessimists are right more often but optimists have more fun.
