A sad day indeed, John Peel has died.

John Peel died today of a heart attack whilst in Peru. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertain...io/3955289.stm
(Sorry about lack of proper link). Anyone who lived in Britain in the last 40 years who had any interest whatsoever in music will be very sad at the news I'm sure.

He was just the coolest OAP in all the land. There was nothing better than chilling out, listening to his show on the radio with a big cup of tea and a jazz cigarette.

I'll certainly miss his soothing voice.

On the bright side though the music in heaven's going to get a damned sight better, no more of that harp nonsense Mr Peel'll sort it right out.

Sorry to be the barer of such bad news but I'm sure there'll be people on the forum who'll want to know.

Kit
