Speaking of t-shirts...

So, I'm at Six Flags Great Adventure this weekend with my daughter and one of her friends. Sadly, I did not have my Harper Hottie t-shirt yet.

But while the kids are browsing in the little clothing shop called "Heat Wave", two shirts grabbed my attention. Right next to each other in bright pink and sized for preteen girls are a Corona beer t-shirt and a Playboy logo t-shirt.

I was taken aback and asked the two young women minding the store if they thought these items were a bit inappropriate. Neither one had to think about it, and responded that, yes, they were not pleased to be selling them.

Get 'em young says the bright, ambitious marketer.*

Yes, I have called to complain, as a parent and a long time season pass holder.

*This is a disingenuous comment as I actually believe somebody just ordered these shirts in all sizes and nobody stopped to think what they were actually doing.

To me, this is a disturbing trend in today's "fashion". One other company I have a real problem with is A&F.

I also agree that those shrts are completely innapropriate for young girls. I have a daughter and if she tried wearing that trash in public, I would send her somplace boys don't exist. Well at least buy her a pair of black rimed glasses as thick as coke bottles, and tape the rims with white athletic tape. I think we used to refer to those as BC glasses. BC(Birth Control) because while wearing them no one of the opposite sex will come within 100 yards.

I was at the Rush concert () last night and I saw a few Playboy shirts on some young girls. They weren't any older than me, so they would have been 16-17. Why?

Us poor kids. Jeez I swear we just don't care who we offend.

Every family is different but in my opinion 16 and 17 year olds get to make some of their own decisions, even if, within limits, they're bad ones.

I guess I'll see what I think when Emma is 16.
