I believe Nabisco also refers to it as "fruited cake".

They are right, they arnt cookies, they taste like ass.

Some of the other flavored ones arnt bad but the Fig are by far the worst. I dont know what they did to figs to make them figNewtons but something horrible happend.

Here's a picture of Fig Rolls that I found on Altavista. Apparently, they are in fact the same thing. Only Newton is a better name.
