UK uni meets - July/Aug 2003?

Well can you imagine this: I am going to be in the UK right at the time that the Nationals are on in Minesotta. Such timing! Anyways, a friend said, "Hey, just find out if there are going to be any unicycle conventions on at that time in the UK then."... DUH, good idea.

So maybe a little early to plan for the summer but any of you uni'ers from across the pond know of stuff going on over your way say during the later part of July or the middle of August?

cheers,
Erin

There is a calendar of UK and European events at www.unicycle.uk.com/calendar.asp, but I don't think Unimeets are announced that far in advance. However, there will almost certainly be one, they happen fairly frequently.

Probably the best person to ask would be Steve Grainger, who organises them... Stevegrain at aol dot com. Drop him a note...

Mostyn is probably a good thing to go to if you're still there at the end of August.

The uni meets are okay if you're based near Birmingham to start with, but unless you're really into indoor riding it's quite a way to go for a day of mainly hall based stuff.

If you're into muni, there's likely to be something going on, but it'll be organised closer to the time. There's lots of good muni riding round the UK so well worth getting some riding whilst you're over here.

Thanks for that info Joe. Yes I am really into MUni so I would prefer a MUni group ride to doing stuff indoors but then again any uni activity within a reasonable train ride of my base in Ulverston north of Manchester would be worth consideration.

I'll watch the uni.com uk calender for info closer to the summer months.
