Uni Flash Game

Hey everyone, I'm in the process of making my first ever flash game, and I've decided to make it about my favourite hobby, unicycling! Does anyone know how to use flash fairly well, who I can get some advice from? Does anyone have any interesting ideas? I'm hoping I can use the free hosting here at unicyclist.com to post it on the net, will that be a problem?

It should be fairly good by the time I'm done. I'm thinking about two different styles. Either a 2d game, where you would use the arrows to move, space to hop, and enter to turn around. (If anyone has played Elastomania, that's what it might be like) Or a more 3d game, with a scrolling backdrop and obstacles to avoid.

Each would have different uni's to choose from, with a coker being fast vs. a 20 inch with lots of hopping ability.

Thanks in advance.

great! That's what the world needs you know: a good uni game! And if this game is anything like Elastomania it'll be awesome. Keep up the good work, and I hope it turns out well.

If you make it like elastomania just make the edges a bit more rounded, and the gravity a little more realistic, and finally the background more realistic. sorry if you don't like the pickyness, I just like it when people don't beat around the bush when I ask them questions like that.

That would be the coolest thing, I'd really like to see it and play it.

Didnt you hear? Uniracers is a great, and seemingly random, game for SNES. I though everyone here played it obsesivly... I know I do.

Can't be done. It's always going to be full screen.

Anyway, I'm about 25% done. It's a pretty bad beta, but it will do. Still have to try coding in jumping, some sort of death for when the uni seat touches the ground, having the placement of the seat have some effect on speed and a proper way for the uni to interact with the levels. Also, an introduction might be nice!

Doesn't look like much, but this is the first time I've every programmed anything, so don't get your hopes up!

Heres the zip. It has both the playable file, and a .fla file, for anyone with flash to try their luck. Anything you can think of, post them here.

I know that your game will be great... but for those of us who can't wait, are there any other good unicycling games for the PC? I already have Elastomania and I love it, but was hoping to find a game with unicycling in it.

A while ago I played a very simple game where a clown carried a fish bowl while riding a unicycle. The objective was to get the clown from point A to point B (or something like that). I forgot where I played it and was wondering if any of you knew.

Good luck with the game. We will all be waiting for it.

Daniel
