ANN: British Unicycle Convention 10 open for registration

In case you don't know what it is, please
take a look at the website:
http://www.unicycle.org.uk/buc10/.

The eagle-eyed among you will notice that
this is a clone of the BUC9 site, so some
details may be incorrect.

One thing that is *not* incorrect is that the
registration fee is way cheaper - YES! CHEAPER -
than for BUC9. And when you take off the
pre-registration discount, I don't see how you'll
want to go anywhere else.

The convention is being held on 25-27 April 2003
at Baxter College (formerly known as Harry Cheshire
School) in Kidderminster, the same place as BUC9.

For pricing see the website. Look under registration.
The registration form is here:
http://www.unicycle.org.uk/buc10/reg-form.html

From the website...

"The main sports hall has a small viewing gallery, and shower and toilet facilities."

Erm... viewing what, exactly? :-)

BUC9 was last April, or somewhere around then anyway. Presumably it's a yearly thing?

The Unimeet on saturday (I'm going now, apparently... ) isn't related. Although I could be wrong; they are in the same place...

I'm going to shut up now and let someone who knows what they're talking about have a go...

What uni do you ride? just out of interest.

If you're the same James_please02 who has just mentioned working up to 7 foot (cor!) drops then I don't think you should have anything to worry about, the most I've done is about 3, and that was pushing it. If it's anything like Durham the other weekend there are people of all abilities.

As for a new uni... http://www.unicycle.uk.com is where mine have come from. This forum is an excellent source of advice too if there's anything you're not sure about.

If you're talking about the UDC trials unicycle... that's what I've got, and will be taking to the UniMeet. Only mine's got a Velo seat .

I like it; seems perfectly robust, nice'n'squishy tyre and all.

I've got a muni too, one of these, but that's staying at home for the time being.

For adding a little picture, or "avatar"... look at this thread, and Rhysling's helpful and authentic illustrations...

http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/sho...threadid=21168

As for the unicycle... the only bad thing about mine is there's not much clearance between the top of the tyre and the frame. However (a) this is only a slight niggle when a stone gets stuck in there, and rattles around noisily, and (b) I think this is likely to be just a weird frame, I doubt the rest are like that.

Either way, I'm happy with it.

It was in April this year. The BUC is an annual national event organised
by volunteers. It is the only UK convention specifically aimed at
unicyclists.
You really should come along.

The venue is the same one as used for the regular unimeets organised by
Steve Grainger. Not exactly a coincidence - Steve is a BUC organiser too,
and the venue is brill.

The reason I spent so much time and effort copying other people's
websites is precisely so that you can find out about the convention by
looking at http://www.unicycle.org.uk/buc10. :-)

It's not a competition! Just come along and meet some people, have
a laugh, and maybe learn a new skill.

Have a spot of ice cream afterwards and toast me with the cones. I finished the BUC9 puzzle you gave me at UNICON finally. I've been working on it four hours a day since I got it. Hey ... there's a picture of a unicycle on it!

Hi Greg, I know you solved in about 2 minutes. But wait! The BUC10 one
will be way harder ;-)
