unicycle.com prices,some up some down

I just noticed that every piece of Miyata equipment has had price decreases of at least a couple dollars.

But on the other hand i noticed that the KH trials and KH muni have gone up in price about $25 dollars.

Anyone else notice $$ changes?

I have only noticed three things about unicycle.com:

1.) They have an unimaginably large and heretofore unheard of unicycle and unicycling selection

2.) Everything they carry is a bargain and they stand behind all of it

3.) John and Amy Drummond are two of the kindest, friendliest, warmest, most helpful, and most generous people I have ever met in my entire life

Perhaps this is where I should release my idea to the public.

I was at my local bike shop over the weekend and noticed the large price difference between Wholesale and Retail. This got me thinking why cant someone start a Non-Low profit Uni/Bike E-shop (Im still working out alot of stuff and dont want to make a promise I cant keep with a Non Profit opperation)

To start I'm gonna try to keep things simple. Preferably I would like to do only custom orders from customers for stuff like Profile Hubs/Cranks, 661 and Roach armor, odyssey and some other Pedal Companies. Perhaps even go as far as talking to Onza/Norco about ordering uni's and parts from them.

Now by no means do I want to put Unicycle.com out of buisness, what I want to do is something for the good of the sport. Helping other riders like myself who dont have the cash to pay inflated prices that go along with running a large operation. Next week is going to be my big lets get a Buisness plan together and start talking to companies about what it would take to get stuff at wholesale. Hopefully I'll have some free time with classes :-P

Where are the KH's made? If John has to import them the exchange rate needs to be taken into the equation.

Spanker,

I would try pricing the individual parts to see if u can get a better deal. If the KH's increased that much you may be able to save that much if not more by simply putting it together yourself. That's what I did.

To me anything over $400 for a unicycle is a rip. Remeber the guy with the most expensive shoes isn't always the fastest runner. For me the Schwinn's give the most "ho per dough"or "bang for buck" and they are very reasonably priced. Problem is their rarely available it seems.

gotta go granpa got my panties on his head again.

Well, ya see, we got this here thing in the world called... whaddya callit agin?... oh, yeah... uh... inflation.

Unless you've been living under a rock, or somewhere in the woods of Montana (Montana Unicyclists and Unibombers, take note: I'm merely speaking figuratively and ironically here, so relax! ) for the past few years, you'll have noticed a rather non-gradual downturn in the economy. If you haven't noticed, ask your mom & dad. The rest of the world's economies, especially those of countries whose main exports are to the US, flux in direct relation to the US'. If spending in the States drops, profits to overseas companies like Miyata drop, and in direct (if stupid) reaction, prices go up;... uh, before said prices come to you via retailers like Unicycle.com. I know that's a rather simplistic description of the process, but maybe those of us who have been consumers a little longer understand or expect this more.

I know you said "I was only noticing things", but your implication is clear. Watch yer mouth.

Wanna complain? There's an election coming up. Probably won't make any difference, though.

As our economy suffers, Miyata makes shitty seats.

Sendhair,

I do want to complian.

I know business is Business, and thats all about making money. And yeah sometimes thats nice to do. But I want everyone to be able to Unicycle that wants to. Not just thoes of us who have steady 9-5 jobs, or partents that are willing to support their habbits.

Lets do it for the little guy and forget about profit for once do it simply for the sport.

Why are you so mean to me?I have no implication, only thoughts.

If i am so stupid then tell me why the KH uni's have gone up $25 dollars yet the Profile hub they come with has gone down to $299 from $314?

I lurk here mostly and I think its safe to say that Sendhair is a mean spirited person.I should go back to lurking its much nicer in there.

Well, he is mean-spirited; it comes from not blinking, I think.

Whether it's safe to say so is a separate question. I'm an armed
heavyweight. You?
