I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that. At the Red Bull Mayhem last
year, I had great difficulty in getting some (much needed) sleep as every
time I started to drop-off I woke up as my legs started pedalling. Most
annoying at the time...

I'm new at this and I find myself doing the same thing. Fun eh!?

In fact you are actually strengthening the neural pathways required for
unicycling.

After a 10 year hiatus, I started cycling again. I got in shape by sprinting 20 floars to the roof of my office building, everyday for a month. The good folks at the Source hooked me up with a wheel, and I have been riding for a little less than a month now.

I ride 5-6 days a week, depending on if I need to let my knees have a break. I ride on my lunch hour, warming up by riding down 7 floors of the parking garage, then slolem around the lamp posts and parking meters of the buisness district for 20 min or so. Once all my muscles are "turned on", I practice new moves- which constitutes iddling, right now. Then I burrrrrrn back up the garage and slip back into being "the guy in tie".

I have lost almost 2 inches of waste line (my belt does not work anymore); my stomach is getting flat... but the "handles" are going slow (they look strange without the bit in front!). I don't over eat like I did now 'cus my stomach muscles don't let my belly accordian-out.

The Roach leg armour is starting to get a bit SMALL, my legs are bulking up so. I have the med-large; in retro, I should have ordered the X-LRG.

For the last 3 nights, right as I began to dose off, I panic-pedled! Talk about "falling off to sleep"! Far from it! There is nothing like clenching up all your leg muscles to make your hart race and keep you up for another 15 minutes... good thing I took a break today and threw the Boomerang at lunch!

Night all,

Christopher

My God! I hope that you have a stash of deoderant at work. I'm not sure
I'd like to be sharing workspace with you after that.

This is what I'm aiming for. I figured that all the balancing means that
your 'trunk' muscles get very strong besides your leg muscles.

About the love handles. If you look at some classical greek sculptures you
may notice flat stomaches with love handles at the side. I remember when I
first noticed that I had them, in my late twenties. I thought for the
first time that I looked like a man. I'd be happy just getting rid of my
stomach. and my double-chin.

I've noticed too that I'm really getting a cardio-vascular workout by
unicycling. That's what I REALLY want. It feels good!

I have an old Wham-O plastic Boomerang somewhere. I'll bet that that's not
what you are talking about though.

Where do you live?

Hey, don't disparage that old Wham-O! (Organge-Red with white stripes, right?).

You can find some killer 'rangs here:

http://www.angelfire.com/nc/conally/pictures.html

Or here:

http://www.coloradoboomerangs.com/performance.html

Unfortunately, I'm stuck in Mississippi, USA- I feel like I have beemed down to a planet, and my ship left me behind. I have yet to see a Uni or a Boomer since I got here, 10 years ago....

(Ever vigilent, he mans the Space Becon, hoping for a rescue craft to appear in the night sky...)

Oh man. If unicycling was the best was to get rid of the love handles I'd
be a very happy (and thinner) camper. Unfortunately getting rid of those
things takes more work than fun.

Now that fall and winter are here it's time for pub food and dark beer.
I'll work on the handles again next season.
