1.

Light tires do not seem to be available here. I checked juggling shops, several
bike-shops and even a distributor of wheel-chairs.

Can anybody give me a hint where else to look for? Will light tires be sold at
unicon? Will there be any selling by distributors or manufactureres at all?
Can eventually anyone bring a white tire from overseas to sell to me? (20 x
1.75 needed)

It is usual to ride black (white wall) tires in gyms here. There were never any
marks on the floor. Maybe my brand ("Schwalbe") is a non-marking although black?

2.

Am I overlooking information about Unicon IX that comes from the Organizers?
There is no decription of the way to "Wettkampfzentrum" or "Sporthalle der
Berufsschule", I found so far. The web pages seem to lack this information and I
did not get any printed program by now.

I also have no idea of the dimension of a Unicon. How many people
registrated for IX?

Sorry, if I missed the information due to my own incompetence.

Georg

Well, light tires are available. Ask e.g. Siegmono Cycle/Germany. fon: 0431
541441 fax: 0431 549099 email: siegmono@t-online.de . SC will be at Bottrop
during UNICON IX with light tires and other unicycle stuff.

..... And, some miyata DeLuxe 20" and 24"will be available too.....

See you at IX Georg Siegmon

That is not what I wrote! I wrote that Jennie White told me that Tom
Miller told her that they are non-marking. This is now several steps
away from an authoritative answer, and shouting "ARE" is not justified.

Furthermore, I didn't say "gyms used at Nationals". I said that Jennie
(who's in charge of this year's NUC) told me that *my* unicycle tire was
OK. This is not the same as a policy that applies to (all) gyms at (all0
USA Nationals.

Re: Unicon IX and light tire questions

Dear Sirs,

Craig Milo-Rogers just wrote from USA Nationals that Miyata black tires with
whitewalls ARE non marking, and are therefore acceptable in gyms used at the
Nationals.

Have you ever been to a JUA meet or seen the Japan teams in action? All their
tires it seems are Miyata Black / Whitewalls. The Cinderella Girls did wonderful
things on these with out leaving a mark on the floor, only stunned audiences
....................

These are the tires I'll be bringing to UNICON, and I hope / expect that
they'll be OK.

Re: Unicon IX and light tire questions

OK Craig,

Sorry I misquoted you...........................................

I improperly inferred from your writing that Miyata tires were OK.

Still, whether you'd written this bit or not, I would still be coming to UNICON
with the standard Miyata black tire with whitewalls.

This is because I, after attending numerous meets in gyms the world over, I
have never realized these tires to be offensive. Secondly, I wouldn't know
where to get white tires for our Miyatas. It's hard enough just to get
unicycles here in HK.

So, does anyone out there know "first hand" if what Craig inferred is actually
correct? Can we use Miyata tires at Unicon?

If the policy in Bottrup is that only white tires will be allowed, then we'll
just have to buy and apply once there.

Still ........ Julian raises a good question ......... ARE white tires
non-marking? I would add ..... or do they just leave WHITE marks?
