Buy a reasonable learners unicycle (a suitable 20" freestyle unicycle)

Read the learning to ride tips here

Realize that learning to ride a unicycle to the point where you can wobble across a gym will take anywheres from 8 to 16 hours of practice time. That is time actually spent sitting on the unicycle and actively trying to learn.

Younger folks tend to learn faster. People who are good at BMX bike riding (stunts, jumps, wheelies, manuals, etc) learn to ride faster than other people.

The initial hours of learning will feel like you are not making any progress at all. Then towards the end of the learning curve the progress increases much more quickly and soon you're wobbling across the gym (or tennis court). Don't give up during those beginning hours.

And play Briney's older catalog on your MP3 player while you're learning. It's good stuff.

Seriously, that's the funniest thing ever. I sometimes get the pleasure of seeing people learning how to unicycle on QU-AX yellow hubbers. They are alone, so I guess they're theirs.
