My favorite 'shops to do are head swaps.

Here is my "Mona Lisa" of head swaps. Done for a couple of my coworkers.

pretty cool.. but I don't like the cloud. you've smugded it a bit too much.. and I don't like those stone heads in the background and the iceberg that just turns into rocks.. if you could place the iceberg a bit in front of the rocks it would look much better.. but except for that it looks really cool. I really like the birds and the two "moons"..

I race on both skis and snowboards. Here are a few photos I've modified with Photoshop.

Okie, although it was meant to be surreal, which is why I sort of blended the iceburg into rock, but I shall give it a try. About the cloud, you would be surprised, because it has been barely modified atall, it was just a really odd looking cloud to start with.
You mean three 'moons', there's saturn in the top right as well

The first one is awesome, it's a shame it's quite lower quality than the second

Here's a tip for that picture: for the shadow under the rock, instead of using a black brush, use the burn tool. It darkens the color of whatever it's painting instead of just putting black over it.

I like the surreal-ness of it, though.

I just want to show people what the burn and dodge tools look like. They're my favorite tools in Photoshop. The burn tool darkens and the dodge tool lightens.

Now I will offer to point you to the magic of adjustment layers. Unless you have an older version of PS that doesn't have them, non-destructive editing is the way to go. That way, you always have the original pixels to go back to. Burn and Dodge are now crude tools that are remnants from the earlier days of PS. They are best relegated to the photographic print-making darkroom, which is where their names come from. Sorry no screen shot, but it depends on your PS version.

Also the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw, which also works on JPEG files, is a great way to edit. Or to edit a copy if it's a JPEG.

Probably has to do with the JPEG compression used in making the web version of your image. Usually they come out lighter though, and with less contrast.

Samwii, awesome kiwi-lizard! Are those stock photos or are any your own shots?
