I'm in College Park Maryland, just moved here for Grad School, and I'd love to ride with some folks! I'm busy all the time, but if there are rides happening, I might be able to figure it out.

Hope to see you all soon!

Haha you flatter me

Thanks for the encouragement though! Currently falling a lot, but slowly going farther. Hope to be able to do long distance soon!

MaxK and pfalvi if you haven't heard from anyone already, shoot me a PM with your email addresses. I'll toss you into the mailing list so you know when we are riding.

pfalvi and MaxK, welcome to the DC area and welcome to unicycling, respectively. It would be awesome for you to join us. I'll probably coordinate a practice session in a tennis court for the morning of Oct 29. That's definitely an any skill level kind of ride if you can make it out.

To echo Skunkman, just send one of us a PM and we will add you to the next email chain.

pfalvi, what type of riding do you typically do? What unicycle(s) do you have?

Oh wow a practice session would be awesome! Would be great to get some tips especially since I don't have any friends who can unicycle (at least not that I know of haha)

@uniwookie
I've been riding since 2007. In my local arsenal I've got a 36", a 24" MUni, a 20" Trials, and an ultimate wheel.
I'm not great on all of them, but I've ridden a lot of distance on the 36" and ride it every day. I really haven't done MUni in quite a while, but I mostly did pretty low technical stuff back when I did. Mostly have things like wheel walking, stairs, and one-footed riding on the Trials. On a good day I've got 300 feet on the Ultimate in me.
I sent Skunkman a PM!

MD Unicycle Law

Also, as I'm new to the state, does anybody know the laws as they pertain to us here? It was pretty clear in California, but I can't find much about it out here.

I just wanted to refresh this post in case there are any new comers to the DMV area. We have an active group of riders that meet up regularly and we will be doing more frequent rides as the weather gets warmer. Feel free to reply here, send me a PM, or follow us at DCUnicycling.com if you're interested in joining for some rides. We tend to plan rides for every skill level, and have specific rides for distance and muni. Happy trails!

I'm in North Bethesda with 3 cheap 20s, a 24" muni, a 26", and a 36". I do most of my riding in front of my house with the rest of the fam or on the trails at Cabin John, but would be interested in joining a group ride sometime.

It's been awhile since I refreshed this thread, so I figure it's about time. We have a group that gets together about once a month or more to ride together. If you're in the D.C., MD, Northern VA area, feel free to come join us: DCUnicycling.com.

Here's a recent video from one of our recent rides where we did a long pinwheel: https://youtu.be/k9DFmDAnHAM.

Hope to see others join in the fun!!!

So, there are about 20 of us who ride in the DC area. I was down in SC last weekend, so missed you. We encourage you to check the dcunicycling.com site, which is a meetup for future rides. If you provide an email, I can add you to our email list, and you'll start getting some ride scheduling there as well.
