Hey Terry!

I just saw your commercial on TV for the first time.
Nifty!

It aired at 5:54 on the Food Channel during "Chopped"
...in little ol' Sulphur, Louisiana.

Heck, I feel like I know a celebrity... sort of.

Congratulations!
Thanks for sharing ahead of time.
It was a HOOT seeing you on TV!
...and Yeah! They should have included your unicycling!

Fun!

I wonder why they hired a guy of your talent for that shot

Not trying to knock you Terry. I'd have taken the job to if I could and I think we are all proud of you.

What's so off about it is , well, any of us dummies, even me maybe, coulda pulled that one off. They paid a man of your talent to just hold a puppet for a few seconds.

Anyway, cool, thanks for sharing Terry. Not your most impressive work IMHO , but a good score for you I hope in $. I was hoping for more Terry awesomeness, a bit of a let down that way, but I understand.

It was a hoot to be in it too...but there was also a LOT of waiting around, which is typical, lol.

You're right, they certainly didn't need a real ventriloquist, and I even asked my agent about it since none of of had a speaking part in the commercial. She told me they wanted a vent who was familiar with manipulating the figure's head, eyes, mouth and overall movement. But with the limited space and time we each had, there wasn't much to do but just hold the figure as the Steadicam quickly pulled back through the performers.

Hey Terry, great commercial. Amazing how they get that in one take.

Is it really one take? how many tries did it take? Must be a lot of choreography involved off camera just to get it all to come together for the camera view. With your video experience, did ya have moments where you wanted to suggest a better way of filming the shot?

Your the man!

Thanks Ken, yeah they did each take in one long, uncut shot, so all the performers had to hit their marks and be spot on. I would guess we rehearsed it about 10-12 times before they actually "slated" and started shooting it, which took another 10-12 takes with camera rolling until the director was happy.

I didn't make any suggestions except when the director asked me if there was a way to get the dummy on camera before me, since the camera was passing me on my left, but the dummy was on my right. So I told him I could hold the dummy in front of me so when the camera passed, he would be seen first. He agreed and that's how it was shot.

Got there at 9am and wrapped about 7:30pm, so it was a long day! Mostly waiting around from 9am till about 5pm!

Thanks for putting it on here MuniAddict Looks like you had fun when the camera's did roll.
I'm with 57I feel like I know a celebrity..sort of
I've spoken to rogeratunicyledotcom on the phone, does that count as having spoken to a celeb?

off topic, as I've already replied to 3 posts and don't want to hog the 'today's posts'....the link you did to G. Carlin was really good, only I ended up on 'you tube' watching most of his stuff for about 2 hours.

And, the video of the Dusseldorf Uni marathon was amazing. That requires some stamina, and there were some very tight turns in there. If anyone who was in it sees this post, Did you get to walk or ride the course beforehand to know what to expec.? some of the time I was expecting to go down a different route than the unicyclist taking the vid actually did.
